  1. Cole being a heavyweight was always something that sounded better on paper than I thought it would be in practice. I know not all twins are structurally exactly the same but Connor and Cole look practically identical to me and Connor will probably end up as a big 197 by to think Cole can add a minimum of 25-30lbs on that seems farfetched to me without him compromising his athleticism.
  2. given Sammy confirming he will be back in a Ohio State singlet next year 125: Kilkeary/McCrone/Sucked out Davino 133: Bouzakis/Davino 141: Mendez 149: D'emilio/Cannon 157: Sasso (he looked beefy In his post) 165: Paddy/Hepner 174: Welsh 184: Rogotzke 197: Geog 285: Feldman This is a pretty mean team if Sammy is 85% of what he was
  3. Honestly Id just love to see him be able to get back on the mat and do what he loves.
  4. Also Connor Mirasola beat dreshaun ross 6-4 not sure If im more impressed Connor went 215 and beat ross or ross had such a competitive match with Mirasola while still u17 eligible.
  5. Notable results: Vince bouzakis went 7-0 did not give up a point Marcus blaze tech pinned Isiah cortez who has a win over Bassett and lost to Knox 8-7 I believe at the us open he also teched Aaron Seidel. Jaxon joy gave Maddox shaw his only loss 6-6 on criteria Aedon Sinclair did not give up a point sam herring beat Tommy verrette 3-1 only point he gave up
  6. I actually think it's kind of a cool concept. Obviously, the real options for him are far smaller than what he's posting but as he narrows it down it will get exciting given the magnitude his commitment has. He's building his brand I don't think you can really fault him for that and obviously like it or not people are tuning into it on both his page and flows so its working on both ends.
  7. maybe 165? or tell ech to suck it up and go 141 and have him at 149 and or paniro back at 149 and casey at 157.
  8. I would venture to guess David Carr is a big factor in him flipping (if he does) I believe they are pretty close also an incredible training partner. I wonder if Iowa State opts to wrestle Casey now they will have a pretty big log jam at 157/165 with chittum, casey, euton (I think hes gonna be good) and dee unless dee grows into 174 which is very possible. If this happens its very exciting times to be an ISU fan.
  9. Is Zo not locked in with okie state? I know those two are very close.
  10. Starocci is forgoing his first semester and transferring second semester to okie state just so he can call DT a blowbag to his face every day in the room.
  11. I had not really thought a ton about this, but it will be interesting to see how the Russian transfers perform relative to their usual standards now that they are unable to train in Russia given the new rules imposed which seemed to be a direct result of Taz.
  12. My favorite shnaulty moment is when Princetons coach said he could not score more than 3 points against kolodzik and he put up 11 and held up 10 and 1 with his hands to the coach. Its actually insane to think Bassett teched him because during his senior season he seemed untouchable.
  13. I live in lock and work with a lot of the wrestlers so I will let you know if I hear anything
  14. I assumed similarly to the Sadulaev news from a few months ago they would train up until the date incase things were to change.
  15. By far the most credentialed wrestler to ever make the jump. He is also only 28 which is a lot younger than both DC and Yoel were. I believe hes very tight with Khabib and islam so I assume he will train with them at least in Russia maybe also at AKA. I hope he transitions well I get rather annoyed when people say mma guys can beat wrestlers in matches simply because they took down x guy in an mma bout. So if he goes to MMA and gets outwrestled I will be fuming.
  16. was not sure if this would go in mma or here Ill probably make a thread in mma as well but sidakov will not be training for Paris he is transitioning to mma.
  17. I think Jacob was actually perceived to be a bit better in high school. I wonder if Evan is just naturally a bit smaller and 133 just ends up being the optimal weight for his style and build despite having to cut a ton. I have also heard Jacob always cut his ass off in high school and I think he was 138 his senior year. Edit: I think Evan may have also just made a level jump that Jacob did not make. As mentioned, Jacob took two not great losses last year whereas in Evans true freshman year he got majored and teched by Julian Farber. He then beat Farber 8-5 a few weeks later and this season teched him and majored him. Also, evidence of his progression was the difference between the first and second match with Fix although that could have been because Fix refused to wrestle at nationals.
  18. I honestly feel like Iowa was the only program that would work for him. I assume he't out on Okie state and PSU so I'm not sure who else has the funding to pay him what he thinks he's worth. I suppose he could take a pay cut but I would be shocked if that happened when he could try and given how he looks on the pads fail at MMA. Id like to see him back in wrestling love or hate him he brings eyes and is exciting as well as being very talented. It just feels like we have done this dance two or three times now and the best fit is now no longer an option.
  19. very good snag for the Iowa but one of them I assume will be sitting for awhile with Arnold,Ferrari,Riggins,Keuter all having a lot of time left.
  20. I really feel like if he develops 1 or 2 more go to leg attacks that are not the firemans hes going to be one of the best guys we've seen in a long long time. His body awareness and feel seem satiev level.
  21. Jax feels like he could be anywhere from 133-165 he has the frame to be a lot bigger, but I don't think he cuts much weight to even hold 57kg right now (purely an assumption he could be cutting a lot).
  22. I cannot imagine how good he could be offensively if he could shoot from ties rather than 3 feet away from someone. He has an unreal ability to pull shots in but against the best guys he seems to get stuck or countered there about as often as he scores. he started to utilize elbow control a lot more around that 2022 world run but it seems like he's gotten away from that, he had a really nice outside step as well as a duck/boot scoot from elbow control that he hit on amouzad twice. Ultimately, I would just like to see him get in more positions where his hips are under him when he's shooting, as well as like you said get more reactions out of people.
  23. I think zhamolov won the spot at the last ranking series by beating the guy that beat bekzod. If sidakov cannot go I think both guys are certainly in the mix.
  24. seem like very good and normal kids
  25. Was listening to FRL and they were speculating where some of the top guys may go thought it would be a good chat over here Bassett: PSU,Iowa,Okie state with Iowa actually being the front runner by everyones opinion which shocked me I still think he's a PSU guy Jax: front runner seems to be OSU but they feel his options are open Rayney bros: Union county is very close to the university of Illinois so I guess they have trained there with Webster and those two + Munaretto who they mentioned may also be interested in Illinois as well as tOSU because of his friendship with Davino Illinois could have one hell of a team in a few years Ross: consensus seems to be he will probably go the football path although the fact hes doing freestyle well into the football season is an optimistic sign. If he wrestles he seems like Iowa through and through. Mocco: A few people have mentioned the ATT facility in happy valley and his dad being the head wrestling coach at ATT I'm also not super sold on Cole Mirasola being a heavyweight or a super effective one at least by PSU standards I think thats a good fit but he seems pretty wide open other than the possible American top team connection. Aaron Stewart: Another Illinois boy if they can shoot 50% on their guys/ the Rayneys they will have their best class in a long time. I remember Stewart being a world beater in Junior high and then I did not really hear about him his Freshman year. this last season though he looked awesome at ironman beat a really really tough Asher Cunningham seems like a potentially more offensive minded Jacori teemer (similar build and athleticism) I think hes going to be really good. Keanu Dillard: Like Munaretto I think he could be a lifer at 125 which I think makes you very high valued even if you are not quite the most elite which is not the case for Dillard hes a 2x pa state champ in aaa and just made a cadet team. All reports from Marsteller and the stellar team is that hes incredible and hes about as positionally sound as it gets. I tend to always just through the Bethlehem guys to Lehigh but I could see him at a big 10 school probably PSU leading the way just with the PA ties. They are going to be loaded at 125 but Lilledahl looks like hes put on some size so I don't know that hes going to be a 4 year guy there and Desmond looks like he could be a 133 as well if he ends up staying at psu. Jayden James: I think this kids going to be really really good. I like guys who start small and grow I think there is just a level of technique and feel you need to have to be high level at the lighter weights that you may not necessarily pickup if you started heavier. Hes been growing a ton and Willie has him projected at 174. The delbarton to Cornell pipeline seems pretty strong.
