74 is definitely the weight to watch Valiev Salk sidakov Kurmagomedov tsabolov Sadulaev back at 97 is exciting should mean the Taz rematch is a done deal. seeing no geno or taha at 125 is really weird I think one of those two has won it for the last 12+ years. I don't know anything about russia 92 or 125 and they are not good at 57 but they are probably favorites at 61,65,70,74,79,86,97

finger lakes/cornell RTC same think simon ruiz did last year. Kid was great in high school lost to melvin miller at super 32 but then got it back I believe. Has definitely jumped levels in that room though. He does not really have any head turning wins this year Derek Raike and Gioffre are probably the two best and they are fringe NQ guys. Cam Catrabone who I like a lot is his lone loss but Catrabone is a menace on top so that could be why.

2025: Collin Gaj (2x pa state champ 44-0 senior year 44 wins by bonus beat Jeremiah price App states starter who was 22-9 this year at the southeast open lost to Hipolito in the finals 8-2) Ryan Burton (super 32 champ Majored 2-0 against Asher cunningham majored him one time beat Jordan Chapman in NJ state finals 20-6) Aaron Seidel (PA all time wins leader 206-4 (two losses to Forrest second match was much closer two one point losses to Knox) Claudio Torres (national prep champ) Noah Nininger (super 32 finalist I believe 4x Virginia state champ) 2026: Jayden James (Maybe the most dominant high school season this year not the strongest SOS but I believe he teched or pinned everyone) I think all of these guys have the makeup to be D1 starters Gaj,Burton,Seidel,James all feel like guys with high AA national champ upside to me.

Nic 3x super 32 champ 3x florida state champ 2x nat prep. Was just physically so much further along than the guys he was wrestling in high school.

Pretty much cheer for any guy who's style I like and whoever is wrestling PSU simply because being in central PA and not being a psu fan is the worst. I do like Cornell a lot because yianni, dake, vito, shapiro,Leen have all been some of my fav guys to watch.

Chael sonnen runs out on the mat and claims another title to add to his collection during his undefeated career.

My intrigue grows stronger.

There is a ton of people saying 174 is going to be a sh*t show on twitter. My guess is for some insane reason Thompson got seeded at the 3 and Hamiti is at the 4.
-
I actively root against PSU but what you just said is not true. Carter,Kerk,Mitchell,Levi,Kasak are all more or less locks for top 3 at worst. Beau and SVN are locks for top 5. Lilledahl has not been there yet so Im not going to say hes a lock to do anything but more likely than not he is an all american and can finish as high as 1. No other team is close to that many locked points even if you go by worst case scenario barring injury. RBY went 8,1,1,2 (lost to a guy who won a world title against a dude that had not lost in 3.5 years a few months later). 8 to 1 is a huge jump and he beat a guy 5 times in a row that had majored him his freshman year I would argue thats improvement. Zain went from 5 to one of the highest bonus rates ever his last 3 years. Beau had lost 3 in a row to Jesse he has now won 2 in a row. Jordan conoway was never supposed to be as good as he was. Braeden davis was like the 5th best 126lbr in the country his senior year of high school and won big 10's. I assume you are trolling so bravo you got me but your claims are just really dumb.

Best performing wild card in past NCAA tourneys?
Truzzcat replied to Fletcher's topic in College Wrestling
wyatt sheets took 8th going into the tournament at 5-7 with an at large. -
I'm not sure he ever intended on using his last year. He was a grad assistant coach his first semester at Lock haven or maybe just an assistant I'm not sure he was even enrolled but they needed someone at heavyweight, and I think he decided to do it. He wrestled in a CLAW wrestling event in the fall which is why I think he may have at the time thought he was done competing.

Penn State vs Iowa in a single picture
Truzzcat replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
He's a farm boy he came out of the womb with tree trunks. -
I assume you mean Alirez. O'toole and haines will not meet until the finals, they are locked at 1,2.

Flow moved Luke from 8 to 1 which I don't understand, and Luke is probably my pick for NCAA's I don't think a head to head result should jump you 8 spots when you have a loss to 10 and 18. In the case of Hardy, he is 0-2 against Happel this season 0-4 over the last two so I just don't see justifying 1 for him.
-
125 Ramos (I think he gets the edge because of lukes two losses aging pretty poorly after confrences however if Luke gets it I will not be upset at all being the confrence champ) 133 Byrd 141 Bartlett ( I have been all over the place with this. I dont think you can give it to hardy he lost to Happel twice, but I definitely dont think Happel can get it with losses to Tagg and Schwartz) 149 Henson 157 Kasak 165 Mesenbrink 174 KOT 184 Starocci 197 Cardenas (I feel like his quality of competition should out-weigh Aj not having a loss) HWT Steveson

I think Deluca may be a lifer at 125 to my knowledge he makes 120 fairly easily right now and is a senior. I would put Gabe in at 174 and maybe PK cuts a leg off to make 157. If all the speculation comes true, they could be the best team from 165 up next year with Kerk and Carter being done. Depending on NCAA's I would think they would be top 5 at every weight. I think if Deluca is beating Cruz you just let him go right away and then they just need to figure out 141/149 I think estrada can do ok at 157. Maybe you recruit the Raneys give them each half a cow and tell them to reclassify.

2026 Big Boarders Remaining
Truzzcat replied to Indiana-Hawk-Wrestling-Fan's topic in High School Wrestling
I think this kid is going to be absolutely nails in college. Hope he wrestles a tougher circuit this off season, but he just killed everyone not named Ryan Foard during the high school season. His finals match was actually the first time in 3 state tournaments he has gone 6 minutes. -
An alternative way to look at it is that Hardy just won the bracket Mendez took fourth in.
-
Off topic but I think dean could be incredible at freestyle. He is very scrambly but in a way that very rarely exposes his back. I could see him being an absolute menace going into that rubber knee and sitting the corner to crotch lift guys.
-
not at either of these weights but where does Paniro fit in at 149? he is 17-1 at the weight and a conference champ. Does he slide into the 3 behind henson and Ridge?
-
There was a vast difference between this match with Keegan and when they met at the all star. He was very close to getting that escape at the end and if keegan did not get that trip at the time he did I dont know that he gets the takedown. I know that's a lot of ifs and buts, to me it feels like a winnable match for him will be a super fun style contrast with levi as well.
-
He seems like a great human, and I think what he's done speaking about his mental health especially in a male bravado dominated sport is really awesome. He has made some silly claims but I'm sure he fully believes/believed them at the time. Would love to see him get on the podium and I am sure his best years are ahead both on and off the mat.
-
1. Bartlett/Hardy (should be Bartlett not sure what the weight is on conference champ for the formula) 2. Hardy/Bartlett 3. Happel 4. Mendez 5. Koderhandt 6. Vombaur 7. Alirez 8. Jamison
