Suriano didn't wrestle until second semester beginning January 9. Lee wrestled three matches that season and the last was 12/21. I believe Spencer Lee was not scared of Suriano considering he beat him for an NCAA title already and just needed to fix his 16 torn ACLs

Pretty sure he had a gap year doing the EAP. He does have a year of eligibility left but he may very well be the oldest wrestler this year so wouldn't be surprised if he has decided to move on.

No one recognizes speedwalking except speedwalkers. Ben Askren just went from hero to "eff it, put this game on Legendary mode and I'm about to set the world record." I've never been more pumped to see someone spit out 5 pound curls in my life. Zahid is a medal threat at 86 but certainly not a lock, Dake is on the wrong side of 30 and it took 17 years of complaining at Paris for him to get fired up enough to squeak out bronze before moving up two weights. The rest of 86 is unproven. I am highest on McEnally on the senior circuit but that's not the present and folkstyle wear & tear may do no favors. 74 has three u20 world champs and Carr/KOT and Carr/MM are already budding rivalries pushing each other. I'll take that for overall depth knowing any of those three could be dropped into the bracket and bring home a medal rather than one probable medal lock (Zahid) and drop-off. If Dake made 74 would probably have a different discussion but he didn't so we aren't. Again, just my opinion and we know what opinions are like.

74 is weird because there is a "lack" of domestic level depth X everyone ran from the Carr/Metzenbrenk buzz saw X the big dogs (Dake + JB + lower tier Nolf) all exited during the same year. Mind you, 74 is still our deepest weight with Carr, Missilebrick, and KOT when he gets back to full strength in 2027. Kinda funny to be deep and shallow at the same time but both are true.

I would be very curious to hear official positions on a podcast.
