  1. 1) Whoever beats Starocci this year 2) some say Gable lost in a shocking final, but many say this is just rumour from the woke crowd 3) one of the Banachs lost to one of the Schultzes (Ed to Mark if memory serves) 4) Dick DiBatista's first NCAA title was a shocker from what I heard over an AAU champ 5) Some guy from Penn State beat Steveson before the pandemic (except he beat him before that too)
  2. AI can be very tricky!
  3. Iowa had a bad B1G tourney, but a good year so far. Not loving the mean-spirited posts attacking Iowa on here and on other wrestling social media. They show year after year that they are a strong and thriving program, even if you don't love their flavor of wrestling culture. Their guys always bring it and their coaches and team work their tails off and care about the sport and their guys. So, while I almost never pull for them in a match, respect to Iowa and their coaches even if occasionally there are some missteps. Its part of the sport. NCAA wrestling is better for Iowa and their occasionally dark but always strong energy.
  4. The intial post is gold! Thanks for the hard work and and insight (if not incite).
  5. Posted 174 Victims: Myles Takats (Bucknell), Nick Incontrera (Penn), Jackson Turley (Rutgers), Lorenzo Norman (Stanford), Brody Conley (West Virginia) Does Nick Icontrera have a good shot at wildcard? He has some nice wins, but lost to Turley and Norman. Finished 3rd at Ivy tourney wiht an OT loss in semis.
  6. Lee is in the conversation for best lightweight collegiate wrestler of all time as well as among the best top/mat wrestlers. He was excellent, but not among the very best wrestlers from neutral. Luke is better from neutral as a true frosh. A key to beating Luke may be to take top.
  7. hopefully for the sake of the fans, we get to see Keck v McEnelly in one semi and Plott v. Starocci in the other
  8. luckily we know from Spencer Lee that this is no big deal and excuses are for wusses - aguably Barr now favored for NCAA gold!
  9. 141 is going to be a volatile bracket and the quarters on should be a lot of fun matches. Head will be on a swivel trying to track all the action. Hardy has some tricks and I hate to miss his matches. He is entertaining!
  10. Kasak v Shapiro - hope it happens
  11. B1G permits blows to the head in all cirumstances Unwritten rule.
  12. I heard part of the NIL deals at PSU is Moms get contact lenses!
  13. I think there is an official time accessible on review that controls on momentary scoring questions over tv clock and guy with a towel/waive from the scorer table
  14. probably close but I like Taylor over Kueter if they meet next year
  15. Welcome back to the Luke is an NCAA contender era! Of course, there are probably 15 or so guys who are contenders., but he is as likely as any. Seeding and tourney at 125 is going to be wild - a lot of volatility.
  16. announcers made the good point that the clock you see on the screen is not the same one that is used by the officials or in the back room review. Might be another second of official time that controlled. Very tight call either way.
  17. Carroll finds a home?
  18. Interesting cat - may want to work on self-awareness? He's not boring - which is something. Out sport does tend to have some big personalities!
  19. Temple, Syracuse, and West Chester should have wrestling revived - along with Yale
  20. damnit - should have used AI instead of foggy memory from hard noggin struck too many times
  21. prosecutorial discretion is quite broad - and not unsual to see aggressive charging decisions that may eventually be withdrawn or resolved for whatever reasons (like contrition)
  22. So Cornell looks like the Penn State of the Ivies. Penn looks like it has a path to 8 in the finals. Some may say this is the first Ivy Tourney, but the first one was in 1905 at Penn and started the EIWA tournament and probably collegiate wrestling tournaments. Think it was Penn, Yale and Columbia. Penn did not win the tournament until Syracuse in 1996 - 91 years but they stayed with it!
  23. that area of 9th has many fun and interesting restaraunts and is heavy on Italian options - most are not to expensive but also some higher end spots if you wish
  24. RIP - 75 is too young to pass on.
  25. voted PSU and have no idea who this guy is?
