  1. I am not answering questions, I am asking them.
  2. I do not want to hear any b.s. about the Hawkeye report. This is the place for the best discussion and information, no?
  3. Thanks - if Davis goes 125, des Max go 133 or sit out? Who is the AZ wrestler? Is Kaya Sement back and Cosgrove back? Agre that there will be some contests!
  4. Uneducated guess for Penn - probably missing a few candidates: 125 Max Gallagher 133 Alex Almeyda 141 CJ Composto 149 Cross Wasilewski 157 Jude Swisher (seems like a hoops name) 165 Andy Troczynski (just a wild ass guess - could be many contenders here and 174 might be biggest ??) 174 Kaya Sement (or 165) 184 Nate Taylor 197 Martin Cosgrove return? Hwt John Pardo runs it back
  5. good call - forgot about him
  6. I doubt that Shapiro is taking steroids, but if he is perhaps it is a new treatment for head injury?
  7. 174 - Haines over Norman 125: Lilledahl over Robinson 133: Ono over Crookham 141: Composto over Blaze 149: Van Ness over Stiles 157: Kasak over Taylor 165: Mesenbrink over Blaze 184: McEnelly over Ferrari 197: Ferrari over Barr 285: Carroll over Trumble
  8. Did not age well. Lesson: Anything can happen in NCAA wrestling.
  9. NCAA soccer has had a growing presence of international talent from club academies - although unlike Ono not usually the very best (who instead are competing at top leagues).
  10. Think he will be ok. Not that hard to learn a standup, switch, half nelson, and tight waist. Stance, motion, level change, back arch, back step, and fighting like demon possesed - he already has those at the highest level and they are not evaporating with some mat wrestling.
  11. The mowhawk was much appreciated in the stadium. Showmanship and nostalgia! I think even AJ was feeling some showmanship love with the split.
  12. Got to give credit for this early call!
  13. Lehigh with some firepower next year! Somebody with knowledge post their expected lineup - top 10 threat?
  14. News flash: every team's goal is to win every weight. Even with that, PSU only got 3 the finals and one had the quirk of a 5th year of eligibility and NCAA tourney opportunity. The sport is healthy and PSU dominance is not "ruination."
  15. Are there many NCAA wrestlers with remaing 5th year covid credits? Hoping not.
  16. What about Knox - he's not ready???
  17. The matside score clocks were too small to follow in many cases. Arena did a poor job of tracking in an accessible manner. Room for improvement there.
  18. JB is one of the best announcers - IMO. Seems to me he is cracious. The other EPSN announcers I could not find it in my heart to enjoy and hope never to seem them announce again.
  19. Also Crazy, let teams enter two at each wieght like swimming allows for multiple entrants for the same event. PSU blue and white teams, Iowa black and gold teams, Ok State orange and even uglier orange, etc.
  20. Truzzcat posted that "Leo deluca is the only incoming freshman next year that could be impactful." I am assuming he meant true frosh or maybe this was more specific to Iowa lineup or the top team race. Seems like there are others that could be top ten or higher if they go next year like at least: Marcus Blaze, Locket, Knox, Vega, Correa, Rath, and Duke. Also redshirt and greyshirt frosh to consider. Who are the likely high impact AA threat redshirt, greyshirts, and true frosh next year? A lot of 5th years clear out so probably easier for first years competitors to compete at AA levels.
  21. I doubt that it would be close even if Ono did not or does not work out. Admit that I am making an assumption that solid recruits are getting better and Ryder and most importantly Mirasola at Hwt are on track for top ten level of achievement.
  22. a magic wand?
  23. Reaction time?
  24. Do not think the grave risk goes away for him. He has nothing to prove and should start the golf or squash portion of his athletic activities. Great wrestler - unlucky w head injury.
  25. Spent time during the tourney w many wrestlers dating back to 70s. Pretty uniform disgust that the NCAA allowed 5 chances at the tourney. Not fair to the young guys. An odd corruption of collegiate wrestling. But you cannot blame the schools or 5th year wrestlers as they are playing by the rules they don’t control. NCAA does not control NIL, which seems to have made it worse and amplified the corruption from the NCAAs stupid decision to allow 5 years. Please make it go away and never again.
