  1. Pretty sure I will attend and if fortune smiles upon me, each day.
  2. Harvard has had some very good crab riders!
  3. somebody's practice squad?
  4. I got to work out with Matt Reiss - might have more than than normal share of neanderthal in that gene pool. Was not all that suprised when he made a deep run - but not saying it was not a surprise that he won it.
  5. I do not admire when zealots bend over backward to construe artistic expression as a purported unfair attack on their faith - in this case they read in a parody to a small slice of the opening ceremony that was not intended to emphasize their victimhood. Reminds me of the similuation of injury in soccer and then you go to the replay and any contact was minimial. I do not see that victimhood in this case - sad.
  6. Stack Up Analysis: Collegiate: both top 1%, very slight edge to Cael as he did not lose and Dake is only a 3x EIWA champ Freestyle: both top tier among senior wrestlers, edge to Dake who has accomplished much more (regardless of if he medals in Paris next week) NCAA Coaching: Cael is top 1% and in the conversation for greatest collegiate coach with only a handful of others. Not clear Dake even aspires to be an NCAA coach - does he?

  8. think well for the rest of your life
  9. I think there is no one way to do things and many factors can result in changes. Good programs will overcome disruptions and perhaps use the changes for the better. Coaching changes are not inherently unfavorable.
  10. Also, guys that become too big for 125 can bump up a weight or two.
  11. Your saying at least 3 or 4 gummies was necessary?

  13. Yes - he graduated from Penn when Penn football was a top program and played in bowl games. He was a big wrestling fan and lived near Lehigh. When Penn hosted and won Eastern tourney, Bednarik spoke at the tournament dinner. He recalled that he went into the Penn wrestling room in his day, but did not stay with it as the sport was too tough.
  14. Jimmy is and always has been a great benefit to the discussions - in all of his iterations! Where would we be without him?
  15. These are very big considerations alone - and abovious there may be others.
  16. Could be a lot of things in addtion to coaching relationships and even NIL. Where does he fit in a lineup? Just a wild guess but not sure 197 over NCAA season is sustainable for him. MI wonder if he sees more success as a smaller 285 like Feldman and so many others. Wasn't Snyder better up? Is Snyder taller than Carroll?
  17. some recent discussions that Kasak might have grown and compete for spot at 157.
  18. I am not sure it is a logjam, but Cornell seems to be quite deep at the first four weights with blue chip recruits coming this year and next (grey shirts?) and the already rostered: Unger and Gregg D (cover 125 and 133?), Cornella 141, Saunders (141 or 149), and Handlovic 149. With Shapiro at 157 seems like there may be no room for Handlovic or others to move up and little room for recruits to take a spot next year. Interested to hear if there is a plan and if any of the several blue chip recruits are expected to challenge for a spot next season?
  19. Telford probably an IOWA top ten HWT? https://hawkeyesports.com/coach/bobby-telford/ Telford graduated from the University of Iowa in 2015. Following graduation, he competed for the Hawkeye Wrestling Club and climbed as high as No. 5 in the country at 125 kilograms. Telford wrestled for the Hawkeyes from 2011-15, earning All-America honors in 2012, 2014 and 2015. He completed his career with an overall record of 108-27 while wrestling at 285 pounds. Telford lives in Iowa City with his wife, Alex.
  20. now we are talking! Concrete Charlie was aHOF field player both ways!
  21. better to have a top ten list!
  22. Not sure I see the parity you see. What we had was wrestlers not getting paid!
  23. Isn't it pretty clear that Ohio State will be #2 and PSU will coast once again?
