  1. have not seen McGowan much - interestiong opener w McCrone. Like to see Poulin come out w the mohawk he had as a youth wrestler - does he have much of a chance v Sprately - Spratley has one more loss and both have 20 wins
  2. Doubt he wants the 4 and probably no preference between 2 and 3?
  3. Guessing Michael Beard might be the most pleased by this - other half from AJ and Buchanan. Barr may not be 100% and wrestling up a weight and he knows he will have a chance and strategy with Cardenas.
  4. suprisingly tough path for all top 4 seeds - this weight could be a wild one
  5. Not too bad - but Ramos may have the better draw
  6. Stout v Stout in 2nd round - ouch Like the top 5 seeds!
  7. Seems unwise - would have to demand a redo
  8. Hardy is like Mitchell Mesenbrink in terms of fan interest - dude reliably creates a lot of action in interesting ways. Lille and Figs pretty fun too.
  9. fair enough - my bad - I will reallocate the blame for that boring match 100% on BB
  10. I stand accused and I'm guilty, baby I always will be.
  11. Saw that - Rohn was unstoppable with that move. Lehigh should have had Trenge suck down and he would have beatn Lambrecht easily and had Rohn bump up and take out Sanderson for his 4th title. Even Sanderson could not defend the Rohn cement mixer in Albany!
  12. I may not fully appreciate Vombaur - mostly based on B1G tourney and perhaps it was a game plan for Beau who is not often out of position.
  13. Your Super bowl champs, the Eagles are my favorite! Notable that Saquon and Cooper were youth wrestlers! I used to root for team USA in freestyle but thinking about switching to team Canada.
  14. I have heard that the seeding committee monitors these boards for assistance as to what true wrestle fans want and adjust brackets accordingly. So, here are some matches that should be planned for our entertainment: 125 - Poulin v. Lille and rematch of Ramos v. Figueroa 133 - Bailey v. Byrd, Romeny v. Ayalla, and Bouzakis v. Frost 141 - rematches of Hardy v. Mendez and Alirez v. Jamison nobody wants to watch Vombaur or Beau let alone a snoozefest rematch - avoid at all costs by separating these guys on different sides fo the bracket 149 - Henson v. Lovette and McNeil v. VanNess 157 - Kasak v. Shapiro and nobody care much about other matches 165 - Caliendo v. Ramirez and Bearclaw v. the PSU guy 174 - Karchla v. Kennedy and the top 3 in a round robin somehow 184 - Keck v. McEnelly and Plott v. CStar 197 - AJ v. Barr, AJ v. Buchanan, and AJ v. Cardenas HM Barr v. Breard 285 - Trephan v. Kerk and Hendrickson v. Steveson Nobody wants a rematch of b1G final snoozefest - not sure how to avoid
  15. 1) Whoever beats Starocci this year 2) some say Gable lost in a shocking final, but many say this is just rumour from the woke crowd 3) one of the Banachs lost to one of the Schultzes (Ed to Mark if memory serves) 4) Dick DiBatista's first NCAA title was a shocker from what I heard over an AAU champ 5) Some guy from Penn State beat Steveson before the pandemic (except he beat him before that too)
  16. AI can be very tricky!
  17. Iowa had a bad B1G tourney, but a good year so far. Not loving the mean-spirited posts attacking Iowa on here and on other wrestling social media. They show year after year that they are a strong and thriving program, even if you don't love their flavor of wrestling culture. Their guys always bring it and their coaches and team work their tails off and care about the sport and their guys. So, while I almost never pull for them in a match, respect to Iowa and their coaches even if occasionally there are some missteps. Its part of the sport. NCAA wrestling is better for Iowa and their occasionally dark but always strong energy.
  18. The intial post is gold! Thanks for the hard work and and insight (if not incite).
  19. Posted 174 Victims: Myles Takats (Bucknell), Nick Incontrera (Penn), Jackson Turley (Rutgers), Lorenzo Norman (Stanford), Brody Conley (West Virginia) Does Nick Icontrera have a good shot at wildcard? He has some nice wins, but lost to Turley and Norman. Finished 3rd at Ivy tourney wiht an OT loss in semis.
  20. Lee is in the conversation for best lightweight collegiate wrestler of all time as well as among the best top/mat wrestlers. He was excellent, but not among the very best wrestlers from neutral. Luke is better from neutral as a true frosh. A key to beating Luke may be to take top.
  21. hopefully for the sake of the fans, we get to see Keck v McEnelly in one semi and Plott v. Starocci in the other
  22. luckily we know from Spencer Lee that this is no big deal and excuses are for wusses - aguably Barr now favored for NCAA gold!
  23. 141 is going to be a volatile bracket and the quarters on should be a lot of fun matches. Head will be on a swivel trying to track all the action. Hardy has some tricks and I hate to miss his matches. He is entertaining!
  24. Kasak v Shapiro - hope it happens
  25. B1G permits blows to the head in all cirumstances Unwritten rule.
