You will have to use Trackwrestling if you want to see anything on women's college wrestling. That is usually just results, but there is the occasional story. Our best Buckeye friend @MPhillipswas correct when he said "NCAA emerging sport." That is code for we are not going to be covering this until it is an official sport. Currently the women's college wrestling market is flooded. There are too many teams that have less than 20 wrestlers and yes they have 10 weight classes too. If we see more big schools like Iowa add a women's program, it might be the death of women's D3 wrestling.

Too bad the Ferrari's can't open an Italian restaurant there.

Honest question here....Askren liked McDonough? Or is there more to this story that I am missing?
-
I didn't say that I believed it.

According to the "experts" the other Smith is on the hot seat, so maybe he needed to get all of his starters on the mat.

What about some of the other things to consider about the Okie State job? It is in Stillwater and that is no where near as nice as Corvallis, Oregon. Sure Okie State has the resources, fan support, and etc....but remember that there are guys out there like Kolat that didn't want a big school and wanted a small quiet community, and yes he said that years before moving to the Naval Academy.

Seems like "there is a rumor that John is done at the end of this season" is brought up every season. It is getting old. It is odd how we don't hear about every other OSU alumni as a candidate. We hear about the same 2 or 3 names. What about Nick & Tony Purler? Both went to Okie State and Tony was on staff for a few years too. I am not saying that Nick or Tony would even want the job. I am saying that it would be really hard to take over after John Smith. The fans have become accustomed to winning and bringing in some tough kids from all over. I am not sure that Pat Popolizio leaves what he has to go work under the microscope of Okie State. I am not sure if a lot of people would be willing to take the job right after John. We know that Pat Smith is not going to be considered. They already ran him out of Stillwater once, they aren't going down that path again. Same goes for Eric Guerrero. So yeah I would say Esp probably has the inside lane on it, if he wants it.

Boy are you correct! I am not a big poster and have never been banned, but this really IS a great new home.

Does that mean that they are going to be pushing a new samich? The Philly Cheese Tofu?!

UCLA will add wrestling when the University of Texas adds it. NEVER.

They can't get full rosters now. It is so bad that coaches are taking girls that haven't wrestled Freestyle! I bet there are about 60 women's programs without 20 girls on the roster. There were about 3 or 4 programs dropped last year, because they couldn't fill the rosters. I guess the girls don't want to spend $50K a year to go to a private NAIA or D3 school just to wrestle.

Yes. It was proposed for a men's program and UT asked if there could be more raised for a women's program? Of course the answer was "YES!" Then UT came back and said nah, not interested. In Texas it is King Football and Prince Basketball and until we can change that thought process, we will not have a big D1 program in Texas.
-
I am glad that the administration at OU allowed Lou some time to get the program back on track. Do you think Demas is second guessing his transfer out now?

Go eat at the Whole Hog Cafe on Cantrell. It is close to the UALR campus. https://www.wholehogcafe.com/

Even if Texas had a Greg Hatcher type that wants to fund the college program for the first few years, I still don't think it would be enough to sway the powers to be at D1 school. UT recently had the opportunity to add a men's & women's program, but they declined. The money was raised, but they still said no. It would not surprise me if it was 20 years before a big D1 school in Texas adds a men's program.

I don't see it working out for Wiscy as much as they had hoped. I am still shocked that OSU took Orndorf. The nickname for UVU is no longer Injury U as it is changing to Transfer U lol

OUCH! That stinks for sure.

A friend of mine is a HC of a D3 school and his school has a contract with BSN so he places his orders in Sept and always gets his gear in Feb. The AD is always on him about his gear too. He can't win.
-
My kid's HS team ordered gear back in early October and we still don't have it. It is almost as bad as dealing with BSN! Does anyone know someone at Rudis that answers the phone?!

9-0 Ethan Laird ranked #8 on Intermat, behind #5 Dean

I don't feel that TCU should be in the playoffs, especially when they can't even win the Big 12. -
I see a lot of people standing in the breakrooms at my place of employment watching kickball, and nobody gets any work done, and no complaints. They all freak out when I am watching the NCAAs on my phone, and with headphones.
