I don't think so really. I think it has to do with the education system teaching our kids that America is evil, that socialism is the way to go. Rs are not generally supportive of socialism so that gets them axed. Look at what is going on in the public schools and on college campuses. Now that is something to ponder. But as a rejoinder, in the 60's the houses were quite small. Now they are huge and you need 2 incomes just to knock on the door. By the way, we have done it with one income for many years until my wife took up teaching preschool. Now she works 3 hours a day, 4 days a week and supplements the household income. Ha, thanks Know Nothing. I plan on 120 years but genetics says different!!! My Great Grandpa lived to 42, grandpa to 54, my dad to 88 so the trajectory is there. However my great great grandpa lived to 63, dying just 2 years before my great grandpa. I just need to outlive my kids and grandkids and I'll be happy. My 401K has gained 6 times what it was in 2008. That's 15 years, not too bad. I just need that to have been 12 times and I would be sitting pretty.
