Is Spencer Lee too short for a Head Coaching Position?
mspart replied to PortaJohn's topic in College Wrestling
Ha ha!! I'm too short to post questions on here. We have both a head and assistant coach at ASU that are height challenged. They seem to be doing fine. mspart -
Meet your new Speaker of the House candidates
mspart replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Johnson is the new speaker, 220-209. First vote. This guy knows how to get things done. Or even the Rs were tired of being viewed as complete jerks. mspart -
I never thunk I'd see it done. Wow is right! mspart

Ultimately, this is correct. Any marriage conducted by a religious person (pastor, bishop, etc) has to have sanction from the state to do so. And all such must be submitted to the state for recognition. No different that a Justice o peace. But on the other hand, many religious and religions feel that marriage is sacred in a religious sense. You could include Christian, Jewish, and Muslim in those categories. Marriage is bigger than just a government construct. mspart

And it took a guy from Ohio to tell us this. If he can figure it out, it seems reasonable to suggest that anyone can figure it out!!! mspart (PS - Just having fun with you OE. I really liked the post. Very clear and concise and right on.)

My take is perhaps some want her arrested. A good deal more feel like Bigbrog and just want her out of Congress. I think that would be sufficient. Does this raise equity questions? No. Lots of Ds want certain R's out of Congress and lots of Rs want certain Ds out of Congress. That is equity. mspart

This pretty much explains it. At the risk of putting an link in and quoting some of it, this explains in very good detail what the current emphasis is. It also is derisive of any opposing view. This is not the complete article, but if you want to read more, click on the link. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2022/09/how-to-teach-gender-identity-in-schools/671422/ What to Teach Young Kids About Gender Schools should tell children to be themselves. But some districts say too much—and mistake progressive dogma for established fact. By Conor Friedersdorf For the foreseeable future, parents and educators will be grappling with this polarizing question: What, if anything, should prepubescent public-school students be taught about gender identity? “Resources and lesson plans for those who want to teach about gender identity are becoming much more common,” The Washington Post reported in June. “Seven states now require that curriculums include LGBTQ topics. The National Sex Education Standards, developed by experts and advocacy groups, name gender identity as one of seven essential topics, alongside puberty, consent, sexual orientation and other subjects. And the federal government recommends that schools include gender identity in their sex education programs.” The push is to start young. California’s Department of Education urges kindergarten teachers to dispel gender stereotypes, laying groundwork “for acceptance, inclusiveness, and an anti-bullying environment,” because “some children in kindergarten or even younger have identified as transgender.” Some educators favor earlier interventions. The eight co-authors of the 2019 book Supporting Gender Diversity in Early Childhood Classrooms argue that too little emphasis is given to gender identity in the years before age 6, when educators have “a chance to prime all parents for supporting their children’s gender health” and “the opportunity to educate all children about gender diversity and introduce them to role models of a variety of genders.” But a rival faction has reacted by insisting, at the other extreme, that instruction involving gender identity has no place at all in early-childhood education. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a law in March that prohibits public schools from presenting any instruction on gender identity until at least the fourth grade. According to NPR, at least a dozen other states are considering similar legislation. The issue could be a political winner for the Republicans who are pushing it. A recent survey sponsored by the American Federation of Teachers finds that 58 percent of likely voters in battleground states disapprove of the way students are taught about “sexual preference and gender identity.” Asked to explain why, 31 percent said “students are too young for [the] material,” while 27 percent said parents are responsible for teaching it. mspart

They took Hamas health agency at their word. They didn't critically think about it at all. Well Hamas said it so it must be so. Biden missed a meeting with Jordan, PLO, and others because of the lie. mspart

It is mandatory in WA state. They start in K-5. When the debate was going on in the legislature, they had to stop televising (service is like a C-span but for the state) the proceedings because the content was too graphic as they were going through what would be taught. mspart

Rasta, I appreciate your question. I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I meant to convey that it is the Progressives that have the re-education camp. If that didn't come across correctly I apologize. I was just giving examples of behavior on the progressive side that the folks on the far right would be fighting against. I don't think generally that patriotism, core ethical values, and religion are what is wrong with America or could be wrong with America. Generally speaking, I see progressives as being against these things. So I hit on them for this, because I think these things are some of the primary reasons why America is great. mspart

I don't disagree with this. But there is no similar differentiation that I know of between conservative and ???. But there certainly is a contingent that is opposed to the progressives' agenda. But in my opinion, everyone should be against the progressives' agenda. It progresses nothing. It takes us back to earlier times of discrimination and reduction of rights and takes us into fantasyland saying that men can menstruate and have babies, and women can impregnate each other. Menstruating people, lactating people, pregnant people. These are things that women do. Men pretending to be women do not do these things. Why are we rearranging our language for a lunatic fringe? But this is part and parcel of the progressive agenda. If you don't believe in these things, they have suggested re-education camps for you. mspart
