The IBA has not been transparent, which is part of the problem. It's a notoriously corrupt organization. She's been competing for years. It was only after beating a Russian opponent (the head of the IBA is Russian) that a claim was made she failed gender testing.
She's only knocked out 11% of her opponents. She doesn't have crazy power.
My guess, is the Italian boxer psyched herself out after buying into all the false outrage and took the first chance to quit. If you watch, she didn't even get hit that hard.
Here's her losing
Then Mike Pence was a DEI hire. He was chosen specifically because he was a conservative, white evangelical and they wanted to shore up that base.
Joe Biden would be a DEI hire because he was chosen to be a moderate white VP to settle the fears of the Israel lobby and the credit card industry.
This is, by definition, a popularity contest. Your ability to identify with key constituencies is a qualification.
We all know you would never call a white man with the exact same resume a "DEI" hire.
That's always possible and that's why they test, but she hasn't popped for those.
The reality is, if she were truly a "man", she would have been dominant for a long time. Put her against a man right now, and you'll see that she's not.
That's not what I asked. The only way to know whether a woman fits your definition of a woman is to test them all for chromosomes and testosterone.
And who decides what the limit for testosterone is? What about women with XX who have high testosterone?
And what about men with extremely high, natural testosterone. Why would they still get to compete if it's an unfair physical advantage?
Likewise.
My stance is that we should separate the genders the way we have for the entire history of sports. If you were born a woman with female anatomy and lived your entire life as a woman, you are a woman.
You don't know if Khelif has XY chromosomes. We don't know if any of our wrestlers have XY or some variation.
Do you think all female sports should have mandatory genetic testing to make sure women - who have female bodies and reproductive organs - don't have an extra Y chromosome due to a chromosome disorder?
And if so, what about women who don't have Y chromosomes but have high testosterone? That's supposedly the advantage. Why not test every woman's testosterone level?
Yes, 100%. It came from the Russian head of IBA - who got stripped of their governance for extensive corruption - after....*checks notes*....she beat a Russian boxer at the world championships. The IBA has never produced those results.
@jross
As long as she wasn't taking PEDs to raise it, yes. The sports are not divided by testosterone level (that would *actually* allow some men to compete in women's). It's based off the body you were born with.
The trans athlete issue has muddled this entire thing. Nobody would blink an eye at this 20 years ago because we all intuitively understand what a woman is. A woman born as a woman who lived her whole life as a woman is a woman.
Biological advantage is the entire basis of athletic competition. Being a woman with high testosterone is the same type of advantage as being a basketball player who is 7'0. It's rare and allows you to excel.
But you are literally doing the exact same thing as that guy. That is, literally, what you look like. If you think it's insulting, that should tell you you're wrong.
She's not trans. She's not even a dominant boxer. She didn't even medal in 2020. Her best finish is silver. People have lost their minds.
She likely has a chromosome disorder that gives her high testosterone.
How about you start using basic common sense for once? It’s not even legal to be trans in Algeria and you think they decided 20 years ago to disguise a boy from a small rural village as a girl on the off chance he would be good at sports?
Or is it more likely she was born with a chromosome disorder, which is far more common than you think? 1-2 in 100 people are born intersex. Many never find out because they have normal male or female sexual organs - like these women.
You’re choosing to believe the far less likely possibility because it scratches the right itch in your mind.
Well, this is the consequence:
Half this country is borderline schizophrenic.
You don't think women should be able to compete against women if they have too much testosterone?
When do we start DQing basketball players for being too tall? These women were born women and have lived their whole lives as women. It's not even legal to be trans in Algeria.
She's been beaten a ton by the way. She's not an unstoppable force.
If Kamala Harris had come out and said non-citizens should be able to vote, it would be headline news 24/7. She didn't. This looks like lazy AI work from isidewith.
