  1. he also filed to run for congress before he found out his unit *might* get deployed.
  2. @Husker_Du "supported George Floyd riots" another great opportunity to change your opinion when confronted with new facts
  3. 1) He literally called in the national guard. 2) not what he said. basic reading comp failure on your part here. 3) bad idea, but not seeing anything showing any significant action tied to this. people weren't getting their neighbors arrested for not wearing masks. but yeah, bad idea. 4) When? 5) This one is iffy, but on him. He was promoted to the rank he claimed, but retired before he finished the necessary training, which resulted in him being demoted at retirement 6) He retired to run for office, specifically on an anti-war message. He didn't believe in Iraq and put his money where his mouth was and voted against the war when elected. And guess what? He was right!
  4. Well, it's not actually what happened to start. Pedophiles are not protected for their "sexual orientation" by the bill. I assume the trans lawmaker wanted to take it out because 1) it's unnecessary. pedophilia is already illegal. and this language already exists elsewhere in minnesota law. 2) people unfairly accuse trans people of being pedophiles. they don't want the word anywhere near language that is ostensibly about them. And I'm now reading that another amendment was added putting the language back in place, so this whole thing is about nothing. And Tim Walz had nothing to do with it anyway.
  5. that's possible, but i don't see how you can say it's a given. at what point would you start to reconsider if Kamala's numbers are still good? october?
  6. So if Kamala enters election day with a significant lead across all polls, you would still say she has a 0% chance of winning?
  7. what would you have to see to change your mind?
  8. I'm not cherry-picking. She's gained ground in every single poll. It's clearly *competitive* now. That's all I want you to admit. It is laughable on its face to still say that Harris can't win this race.
  9. then why did you say it? why would any kind of abuse ever be okay, even if it were part of Israel's protocols? that's the point. i've condemned every act of terror by hamas. you guys refuse to acknowledge that israel is committing its own war crimes. i'm consistent. your morality is entirely determined by which side you're rooting for.
  10. who would have thought having an entirely new candidate could change the race? @PortaJohn
  11. This is definitely true with the caveat that the sources that skew right skew much more intensely than the ones who skew left. Fox is much farther from the center than CNN, ABC, NBC, etc... And Fox is such a giant that it matches the influence of all the center-left media outlets put together.
  12. THAT'S WHAT YOU SAID! And given the opportunity to back down, you obfuscated. "IF....and that is a big IF...any of these reports are true and this goes against Israel's protocol for interrogating prisoners then whomever did it should be held accountable"
  13. MSNBC is much larger than Rachel Maddow. It's about the average skew of the network. They also have center-right anchors like Morning Joe, Katie Tur, Michael Steele (former RNC chair), Nicole Wallace, etc... I'd put most of the mainstream media in the center-left category, though that's mostly due to social issues. If you looked strictly at econ, it would be center-right.
  14. How are you guys gonna spin this one? @Husker_Du good opportunity for you to change your mind when presented with new facts!
  15. well according to you it’s okay as long as it was standard operating procedure. there’s lots of horrifying imagery coming out of gaza. maybe you guys need to see it to understand.
  16. it’s footage of israeli soldiers raping a prisoner.
  17. well they’re gonna try, just like they would have with shapiro. they’re gonna have a tougher time convincing people with walz imo. she could have picked romney and they would have called him a radical.
  18. @Bigbrog now we wait to find out if this was standard operating procedure to know if this is bad or not
  19. it doesn’t but he has a moderate voting record in congress. and it was in response to @billyhoyle. if picking a moderate was important to him, walz is just as moderate as shapiro, except shapiro is a georgetown educated lawyer who does an obama impression when he speaks. one of them is going to be a lot easier to paint as a radical by the GOP and it’s not Walz.
  20. being on this forum has really crystallized that one of our country’s biggest problems is people can’t understand basic rhetorical language. “one person’s socialism is another persons neighborliness” translation: you call free school lunch socialism, i call it being a good neighbor not: i love socialism ”build a 25 foot wall and i’ll invest in the 30 foot ladder factory. that’s not how you stop this.” translation: if you build a wall, they’ll build ladders (or tunnels, etc…). it won’t solve the problem. not: i want to build ladders so immigrants can climb the wall @mspart
  21. why do you think that’s a gotcha? he’s saying you guys call everything socialism, including just being a good neighbor.
  22. walz is a football coach from rural minnesota who hunts and fishes. he has a moderate record as a congressman. she did pick a moderate. i don’t think shapiro’s knock off obama impression was going to translate.
  23. they’ve won PA 7/8 times. they’ll be fine. and you’re naive if you don’t think it wouldn’t have turned into a thing. he ruled a woman with 20 stab wounds, including many to the back of the head, committed suicide and has connections to the family of the fiancé. this image would have been all over the internet and tv all the way through november.
  24. if @mspart has any guts he’ll admit he was wrong.
