Keep telling yourself that

Will he pardon Ghislaine Maxwell in exchange for her false testimony to bail him out of his Epstein mess?
-
You’re being needlessly obtuse. Do you think I’m trying to provide an excuse for her? I’m not. Bill Clinton spearheaded the Democratic turn right on economics that led to a steady 30 year-long decline in performance amongst working class, populist voters that used to vote Dem pretty reliably. Trump’s victory was the culmination of that process and a complete rebuke to the neoliberal wing of the Democratic Party. Sanders’ success in the primary among that same demographic was an early warning sign of what was happening.
-
Of course she was a horrible candidate. Those things aren't mutually exclusive. She shares the same political vision as her husband and ran on that vision. She was the archetypal corporate democrat. Obama succeeded because he ran against it in 2008 (go back and watch how viciously he attacked her in the primary) and then was a uniquely charismatic figure that was able to hold his coalition together via his own personality. It helped that he only had to clear the Bush admin bar of not starting another global financial meltdown or disastrous war. Him selling out the vision he sold was another major blow to the old democrat coalition. People forget that Obama won a state like Indiana. Unthinkable now for any democrat.
-
Without question. He also marked the death of the Democratic Party as a labor-focused party. Clinton led the Neoliberal turn to the right on economics, which severely damaged the Dems influence with working class voters, and ultimately (ironically) culminated in Trump's victory over Hillary.
-
I don't agree that he was a very good president, but he did a lot of things that Conservatives say they like, specifically tough on crime and ran a surplus.
-
The funny part about this is the Republicans on the committee added the Clintons to the subpoena to try to tank it and the Dems called their bluff and accepted it. It's deeply pathetic how in denial you all are about this.

Great article explaining how Baltimore's embrace of 'Woke' approaches to crime have been a monumental success. Increased police presence and incarceration does not address crime. It's a Band-Aid over an open wound. Who would have thought you could have more success by treating the cause, not the symptoms?! Obviously, Scott didn't 'Abolish the Police,' but almost nobody during the BLM movement was advocating for a complete abolition of police departments. Instead, they argued that funds should be diverted from departments to invest in measures like what Baltimore has implemented with great success. https://popular.info/p/the-secret-to-baltimores-extraordinary This April, Baltimore saw five homicides. That is the fewest of any month since 1970, when the city began tracking monthly homicide numbers. In the first six months of the year, homicides were down 22% compared to 2024, and non-fatal shootings were down 19%. This is the latest in a string of historic declines in violent crime. In 2024, homicides dropped 23% from 2023 numbers, and non-fatal shootings dropped 34%. In 2023, the city also saw record-breaking decreases. Under Scott, Baltimore has fought violent crime not only through policing but through a network of programs that provide support for housing, career development, and education. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott (D), who was first elected in 2020, has brought the city’s homicide rate down by treating violent crime as a public health crisis. That means treating violent crime as a symptom of multiple factors, including racism, poverty, and past violence. Addressing violent crime as a public health issue involves going beyond arresting people after violence is committed and taking proactive and preventative measures.

What you're referring to is what he reportedly said during a private meeting with NYC business owners. It's being reported as a backpedal, but when you actually look at the quote they're using, it's exactly what he's always said about the phrase. He hasn't changed anything.
-
That headline is misleading. He said exactly what he's said the entire time: [paraphrasing] "I don't use it and would not recommend others using it, but it's not the mayor's job to denounce free speech."
-
The call is coming from inside the house.
-
The Dems are using it for politics now in the exact way Trump used it for politics in the election. You obviously have no problem calling the Dems out. Will you condemn Trump?
-
I think "The Republicans are protecting the most notorious pedophile ring in the world" is a winning argument. You can throw as many tantrums as you want. All they have to do is release the files. It's the easiest thing in the world, and they're not doing it. Why do you think that is?
-
In this case, there's one specific type of politician doing it. Are you willing to call them out?
-
Themselves, my guy.
-
Huge donors (and some politicians) on both sides are tied to Epstein, not mention the fact he was likely an intelligence asset for Israel (and maybe others too). Billions of dollars are at stake here and guys like Trump and Biden don't actually care about this stuff. They just want to keep the political machine moving. It would take someone truly committed to breaking up the political establishment and taking on corporate finance to release those lists. Sanders maybe, but I think even he could have been bullied into not taking that fight if he had won.
-
Republicans in congress are voting en masse right now NOT to release the files. Looking forward to the vehement condemnation from our principled conservatives. Seems like only Democrats are interested in protecting our children.
-
Conservatives love getting mad about things that didn't happen.
-
I asked you to condemn Donald Trump and you didn't. That's what I was referring to. You're closer here, but it still feels like a bit of a dodge. Do you condemn Trump specifically?
-
Because you refused to condemn the man covering them up. Here's your second chance. Just a few words gets you off the list!
-
0 for 3! We can now add these three to the "pro-pedophilia" list of forum members. You had your chance!
-
You guys post the exact same outrage topics on here everyday. Obviously, you think the files should be released. Every American, except those who know they're in them, wants them released. My point is why aren't you guys posting a million threads about the evil, pedophile-loving Republicans who are protecting the pedophile elite? Haven't you spent the last 5 years talking about LGBT "grooming" and attacks on "our kids"? Now, you guys don't seem to care that the President is spending all his political capital to protect (fellow?) pedophiles. Why is that? Why aren't you in the streets? Why aren't you calling your congressman? Or to put it your language: Do you condemn Donald Trump? Here's your chance!
-
Okay, so how does Trump's cover up impact your view of him and his administration? Have you learned from getting fooled?
-
I am SHOCKED our free-thinking conservative members aren't discussing this or Epstein at all.... @mspart @Caveira @Scouts Honor @jross @JimmySpeaks
