  1. Ok, then what would you use when discussing who would win? It may not be a great metric, but it's more solid than pure speculation since they've never wrestled.
  2. Jacques is not a big staller. He takes shots, he just can't finish them.
  3. I don't know about the last decade, but Mauller stalls like crazy. He'll attack weaker wrestlers, but against the best guys he'll just wait and try to counter. As a Mizzou fan it drives me crazy because he can and has taken top level guys down off of his attacks, he's just extremely hesitant to initiate them. The first time he wrestled ISU's Johnson and pinned him, he stalled the whole match on his feet. He just go lucky with a counter in SV.
  4. I've been to Indy before for big club volleyball tournaments that my daughter played in, and Lucas Oil Stadium was an awesome venue (not sure if wrestling will be held there). It's conveniently located and I think Indy is a neat town. However, they'd be newbies to such an event, so a nice venue and city does not necessarily make for a good tournament. Plus, Indiana doesn't have a D1 wrestling school, so not sure who would host. (j/k Hosers!, I mean Hoosiers)
  5. Are those numbers contingent on the number of transfers they bring in?
  6. No, that's a different part of town about 10 minutes away. It's also not the Kemper Arena hood where 2003's were held. It's a fairly new (2008) entertainment district in the downtown. Lots of stuff within walking distance, and it's serviced by KC's free streetcar.
  7. Most people will love KC next year. The T-Mobile Center is an easy 20 minute drive from the newly refurbished airport, right off the intersection of 2 interstates, and right in the middle of the Power and Light district. They hosted Big 12's a few years ago and did a great job. Can't wait! https://www.powerandlightdistrict.com/
  8. Any time a mid to lower tier school has an AA, some upper tier school will make an offer to them. The rich will keep getting richer. Wouldn't be surprised to see this start killing weaker programs.
  9. Modern day scrambling would leave a lot of the old schoolers pulling their hair out.
  10. Why would Griffith spend his last year at Michigan when they have a returning 3x all-american (all at 165) who just beat him at Natties?
  11. Aren't singlets still optional?
  12. They were in the Big 12 then, not the MAC. He lost to Pendleton his freshman and sophomore years. Undefeated and completely dominant his last 2 years, 87 wins in a row, 2 Hodges. Absolutely embarrassed Herbert in the finals his junior year. You need to catch a clue.
  13. Some respect. It was a polo, and Charles Hallahan wore the **** out of it.
  14. Sincerely. Brooks and Ruth ahead of Askren?
  15. Yep, Herbert can attest to that. Unless his opponents ran the whole match then they were getting at very least majored. It was a surprise when Gavin held it to a regular decision in the finals Askren's senior year (Ben pinned him in the first period earlier that season).
  16. Hard to wrestle for Iowa when you're not allowed to leave the state of Oklahoma.
  17. I may be out of the loop, has Messenbrink commited to Mizzou? And O'Toole moving up? He was a true 157 his freshman year. 165 seems like a good fit unless he has grown, dislikes cutting, or wants to help the lineup.
  18. Also, Hawks and Surtin improved by leaps and bounds this year and won multiple matches at natties. They'll both be potential AA's next year. Edmond who qualified at 149 in 2022 will fill in nicely at 141 for Hart. Whoever gets the 133 spot (Crawford or Seltzer?) will perform as well as Brown did (2 and que at natties). 157 will be a question mark, but after watching Jacques lose in OT seemingly every week, it will definitely be less exhausting to watch. The Tigers were 1 spot shy of trophying this year. Anything less would be a letdown next season.
  19. Someone needs to inform him that JC and the Hawkeye Report are saying different. Perhaps in the future Nic needs to consult others further before making premature posts about his intentions.
  20. Like he did when he (falsely) passed on that Lee had supposedly left Tulsa while the team was still competing.
  21. Should have hosted Big 12's this year, and Natties next. Would have given them more than just 2 weeks to get the kinks ironed out.
  22. Were
  23. I agree 100%. Whoever started this rumor is a f****** tool, and JC is a tool for repeating it.
