  1. I think they should go to the old rule where you had to sit for 1 year after transferring. Might be a bit of a deterrent to athletes throwing their name on the market for the highest bidder, and put a little bit of a damper on this NIL/transfer portal craziness
  2. Sorry, corrected my response above.
  3. No, covid was 2020. A 2020 freshman would have gotten 4 more years to 2024, and if they took a red-shirt then they could still go in 2025, and medical or ORS could bump them to 2026.
  4. Looking at the matchups just re-emphasizes to me how bad the committee screwed up some of the seeds. No way in hell Starocci is the 9 seed, screwed up the whole top half of that bracket. No way 4x AA Elam should have been the 12th seed. And Carr should have been the 3 seed. I know hindsight is 20/20, but it seems like seeding criteria should factor in common sense to some degree.
  5. Didn't think Frost was advancing his position. And if the ref let it keep going then people would be complaining because he let it go too long and wasted valuable time in the 3rd OT.
  6. Whole lotta nothing from Lewis. I'm guessing he didn't get the 1 seed wrestling like a scared girl.
  7. Fix lost his aggression when he got off the juice.
  8. And if the ref let's it keep going then people would be complaining that he allowed a stalemate to waste too much time in the 3rd OT.
  9. Should've prayed harder.
  10. Thank god! Now we don't have to listen to another cringe worthy B. Davis interview on Saturday.
  11. Wasn't expecting Maxx Mayfield to beat MM, but Stranger Things have happened.
  12. I don't think that's much of a factor. They've been making weight all season and they've had 2 weeks to make sure they don't have to do the last minute cut.
  13. I'm with Gus. If you choose to enter a sport with specific rules, don't expect the rules to change just for you.
  14. They're all counter and defensive wrestlers, although Eierman evolved some. Every match Jacques had against decent guys was like 1-2 or 2-3, or OT. He could keep everything close, but couldn't score off his own offense. I think people have figured this out vs Mauller too. Against weaker guys, he's a scoring machine, but against better wrestlers he reverts to his old ways. He'll be down in the 3rd and won't even take a decent shot until it's too late. And the bump to 157 didn't help. Not sure what the hell he was thinking after his RS year at that weight.
  15. KCK is the butthole of the midwest. There's nothing there and you'll get shot. Some of the surrounding areas like Olathe and Lenexa, KS are nice areas, but when you hear people talk about KC it's 100% Missouri.
  16. Muzaffar Abdurakhmanov was a 2x champ at Colby Community College in 2003 and 2004. After transferring to American University in 2005 he had the #4 seed but had to forfeit out due to injury. In 2006 he was the #3 seed at 165 and ended up taking 3rd. His teammate Eric Luedke was a 2x national champ at Colby and a 2x AA after transferring to Iowa.
  17. Ok, I was responding to a post about who could make the finals, not who would AA.
  18. The Easter bunny's roots can be traced back to ancient paganism, and the deity Eostra. The goddess of spring, rebirth, and fertility, her icon was the rabbit, thanks to its ability to quickly procreate. Some historians believe Christians named Easter after Eostra.
  19. Fritz's is still there. Crown Center across from Union Station.
  20. Is that the same Caliendo who just got teched bad at Big 10's by MM? He has an outside chance to see the semi's, but the only way he sees the finals is if he buys a ticket. I'd say #7 Olejnik has a better chance, even though he won't beat MM either.
  21. Definitely a tough one. That was his closest match of the year, but also his worst. After a very uninspiring 1-6 first period, KOT outscored Hall 7-1 the rest of the way, which I think is probably more indicative of how close the two are. That match almost guarantees though that KOT will not look past him next week.
  22. I would recommend staying away from Westport. There are some decent bars and restaurants, but violence and shootings there are not uncommon. River Market is a very cool area, and Zona Rosa (up I-29) and The Legends (west on 70) are neat shopping, dining, and drinking areas about 20 minutes from the arena. The Power and Light district around the arena though is the best area in the city for food drink and fun, and everything is within walking distance. Ameristar Casino is also very nice, about 15 min. north. Also, all streetcars and buses in the metro are free. If you happen to get lost, don't stray too far east of the Power and Light-Midtown-Plaza strip. Some of those neighborhoods can get real sketchy real fast.
  23. KOT and Carr are 2-2 over the last 14 months vs each other. I think KOT will win 165, but 99% confidence with Carr, MM, and Hamiti there is just slightly dumb..
