We're tracked on AI usage and required to show how we use it. For security reasons we have to stick with our own internal AI, which is clearly inferior to the paid public ones. After 20+ years doing performance engineering analysis, I have to admit my skills have been turned into a relic. The AI analyzes the same data with a much larger resource pool and instantly surfaces insights that took me years to develop. The hallucinations are reducing. It does not yet negate my ability to ask smart questions, give meaningful requirements, and to spot errors from crap.

Reasonable Discussion: Systemic Oppression

Nobody should get into the circular pattern of repeatedly citing work and having you ask them again and again. This is a topic you and I have discussed before (stereotypes), using citations, about which content is also well-established, and you simply disagree with. -
This is the answer. We'd need someone to become authoritarian, to interfere, and to police. Instead we (Americans) are on the path to dominate the space for hopes of maintaining control. A series of career changes is coming to white and later, to blue collars. One step back and two steps forward... hopefully.
-
For those asking... I have a job for now... We shall see if I do next week... The white collar layoffs are getting more aggressive each time for profit... My concern is not with my job as I will always land on my feet so long as I have two hands and a brain... Rather my concern is with Musk talking about how robots and AI will become so efficient and effective that they will meet every human need. In this way Americans will be wealthier than any human in history. I've seen Wall-E. I've watched the Alone TV series. I've been restless without a sense of purpose. Too much is unhealthy. The rat study shows a progression of population boom, society break down, and death. Society breaks down Overcrowding in certain areas while other spaces stayed empty. Violence, aggression, and abnormal sexual behaviors. Mothers neglecting or attacking their own pups. Withdrawal: Some mice became "beautiful ones"... they obsessively groomed themselves, avoided social interaction or mating, and lived as isolated hermits. Loss of normal roles: Dominant males couldn't maintain territories; subordinate males formed chaotic groups; parenting and social bonding broke down. The rats lost purpose. Look at the third generation of the extreme wealthy people and you find what happens when life lacks purpose. AI will eliminate human purpose in the end.

Reasonable Discussion: Systemic Oppression

AI has obsoleted my engineering job and there are millions in America in a similar spot. I do not trust responsible use of AI anymore than I trust untrained children with a loaded handgun. AI is the equivalent of John B. Calhoun's famous "Universe 25" experiment on rats. The rats are given everything they could ever need and behavior sink dooms them to death in the end. So to will AI expedite the ongoing behavior sink to humans. Am I right? What should be done about it? How can the "ethical" actions be enforced in practice? Discuss.

Improved to a B based on the updated records regarding the reduction in murder, violent crime, drug overdose deaths, fentanyl, illegal immigration, and dealing with criminals. I am unclear on Iran's impact on peace in the Middle East but his actions have a negative short-term impact on affordability. Passing voter ID for elections is huge... if it happens. Ending the filibuster to make that one thing pass would be worth the blowback risks. I am most excited for the potential of new cities and most concerned with the coming midterm loss that will torpedo remaining progress. What isn't discussed is reducing government corruption as a goal with a bill that removes stock trading and adds term limits. I do believe that if Trump's policies are enacted, that new records of success will increase unity. The emerging 'Covid stain' for Trump is the disruption from accelerating AI-driven layoffs. Inaction is going to hurt...

There will be people that are relieved that Trump is dead. Trump has hurt innocent people. The loudest celebrations will be by those hurt in their imaginations -- and that is what disgusts.
-
Disgusting. Ding Dong The Witch is Dead. There will be unrestrained, hedonistic, and joyful public celebrations when Trump dies. Here, there, and the largest cheers everywhere by the people offended in their imaginations. It will be levels worse than Kirk.
-
This conversation might not be here if Trump had said "Mueller is dead. I’m glad his power to hurt innocent people is finally over" rather than "“Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!” They both have the same meaning.

You have a pattern of making abstract statements that give you plausible deniability when challenged. When people push back or call you on it, you sometimes attack them personally.
-
^^^This is where your own defensiveness comes out.^^^ It appears to me that you are invested in one side of the Trump controversy and using rhetorical distance + opponent-diagnosis to shield your position.
-
Rhetorical distancing is the OP habit. The topic is written in general, abstract terms... giving him freedom to imply anything or nothing. The 'federal' mention and timing make the subtext obvious. Evasive, sneaky, and perhaps bad faith.

RV Troll Count: 1
-
Anytime Red Viking posts something provocative in our topics, increment the RV Troll Count right here in the replies. Current RV Troll Count: 0 Strict Rules: Increment only — Reply with just the new number (e.g., "RV Troll Count: 1") and nothing else. Ignore completely — Do NOT respond to his posts, quote him, argue, tag him, or engage in any way. He thrives on reactions. No replies = no fuel. Keep this thread clean — No debates, no quotes/screenshots of his stuff, no side chatter. Count updates only. This is our shared tool/reminder to stay disciplined and deny him the attention he wants. If he drops nonsense elsewhere, just increment here and scroll on. Everyone helps keep the tally accurate—self-police and correct miscounts if needed. Let's starve trolls together. (Feel free to spin up a new "Member Troll Counter" here too)

The volume of "accountability moments" isn't evidence of exceptional misbehavior. It is evidence of weaponized over-pursuit motivated by dislike. Find me the man and I'll find you the crime.

Spent 20+ Million for naught on the Mueller report.
-
The first question is why would Trump describe Mueller the way he did? I completely understand why Trump said what he said from a personal perspective. Mueller has bad history not limited to Trump. Mueller ruined Steven Hatfill's career, reputation, and personal life for years... leading to us paying out millions to Hatfill. Trump was an idiot for saying it when/how he did (not for thinking it). There continues to be a very real witch hunt to "get" Trump and that behavior is 100 times worse than what Trump said about Mueller.
-
Is Steven Hatfill celebrating?
-
Trump celebrating Mueller is levels below people celebrating Kirk.

Reasonable Discussion: Systemic Oppression

Stereotypes are statistically accurate at the group level. They are evolutionarily necessary. When you have the time to understand the individual, the stereotype should fade away. -
Of course and what better way to learn than on a hill with a tailgater behind.
-
Far less required to be "good riddance." Wrong timing is all for Trump to openly and publicly say so. Not because he is wrong rather because so many people disagree.
