  1. No. I said that stat was for the winner scoring exactly one point.
  2. Indeed. Swimswam does better. https://swimswam.com/2025-world-championships-day-1-prelims-live-recap/
  3. That's right, baby. Swimming is back. Tough start for the Americans as two swimmers dropped out due to illness and a third dropped out of an individual event to focus on a relay. Apparently during training camp in Thailand several swimmers got sick. But the highlights of tonight's (tomorrow morning - it is in Singapore) are the women's 400 Free with Katie Ledecky the fastest in the prelims, but Sumer MacIntosh just set the world record at the Canadian trials. Should be tasty. The men's 4x100 Free relay also features today. The US will be pushed hard by Italy.
  4. Make all TDs worth less if you want more of them.
  5. Yes, someone could win 2-1, 3-1, with no TDs but that would be in my 1 TD category. It would only be three or more points that is not captured. And those have to be so rare as to be a rounding error. The analysis was only for NCAA tournament matches so the number of matches was nearly identical in the two periods.
  6. Were you silenced while typing this?
  7. Digital only. Which narrows down the audience to only those foolish enough to play that game. Many people buy these knowing full well they are rug pulls, but believe they can get the timing right themselves and make a quick buck. The site where the coin was traded was even called Pump.fun no one who goes there should have any misgivings about what is happening. That is not to say Askren should have done this. I would not have. But these things happen among a self-selected universe of people who are looking for a get rich quick scheme.
  8. Not dense at all. I often make the mistake of not explaining fully enough because I have spent so much time with the data that I make assumptions without making the assumptions clear. Including the TF and pinfall are the numbers in parenthesis in the post you referenced (6.8% vs 7.1%) which brings the numbers closer, but does not favor the three point era. But that is just a single score line. A few posts later I expanded the analysis to include all zero and one takedown matches, and that is more damning for the 3 point takedown.
  9. Though I can find nothing in the 2022 rulebook stating this penalty, according to Trackwrestling (thanks @gimpeltf) apparently Arizona State lost a half point for a uniform violation. Coincidence? Or perhaps foreshadowing a certain singlet pull?
  10. Terry Bollea, we hardly knew ye.
  11. 2016 Iowa could have shared the fourth place trophy with West Virginia with slightly better behavior. Instead they finished 1 point back in fifth. Granted West Virginia also lost a team point that year, but Iowa could have been there to take advantage of that. 2019 Missouri did not lose out on the podium, but they would have been fifth, a half point ahead of Michigan, instead of sixth, a half point behind. 2025 Ohio State had sole possession of fifth place had they not dropped a point and dropped into a tie with Minnesota. There are a whole bunch more once you get to the lower scores, but not much interesting.
  12. This is just implied deductions based on scoring differences. I do not know of any database with the actual deductions.
  13. While Iowa has lost the most points in these nine years (5), they could afford it. But Chattanooga has to be my favorite. After scoring 1.5 points on the mat, they look to have given back 2 points in deductions for a net -0.5 score in 2017.
  14. The caveat is Arizona State in 2022. Rescoring the bracket gives them 67 points, but every source I look at says they had 66.5 points. I even went so far as to look at videos of every one of their matches I could find from the tournament to see if the bracket was in error. Nope. No real controversy hear as the half point would not be enough to change their fourth place finish. If anyone knows the story here, let me know.
  15. If anyone knows on of these to be wrong, let me know.
  16. As part of a project to recreate all the tournament scores by building up for the individual match to the team total, it is obvious that there is a key missing component: team point deductions. So, now I am trying to back into them by assuming that any point total differential between my method and the publicly available scores is attributable to team point deductions (with a single caveat). Using that method I think there have been a total of 64 team points deducted in the 9 tournaments between 2016 and 2025. In three cases it looks like a team had 2 team point deductions in a single tournament. The ill-mannered 64 are (sorry about the rough formatting):
  17. Revenue categories for calculating the 22% are: ticket sales, input revenue from participation in away games, media rights revenues, NCAA distributions and grants; non-media conference distributions; direct revenues from participation in football bowl game, conference distribution of non-media and non-football bowls and football bowl revenues; and athletics department revenues from sponsorships, royalties, licensing agreements, advertisements and sponsorships. @fishbane, I think you are probably right, the gift is meant to help pay for the 22% while not being included in future percentage calculations. The 22% will already have been calculated before this gift. It is then kept at the level for three years with a 4% elevator. After three years it is recalculated. I am assuming these gifts are not considered royalties.
  18. As someone who is working on rescoring every tournament from the match up, I am #teamcaveira on this one.
  19. Given the way you write it is very hard to know what you are saying. But Trump did not ask for a subpoena. And the them that is being subpoenaed is different than the them that the crappy petition, not briefing, was asking for. This is the point I already made in anticipation that you would intentionally conflate the two.
