  1. Whatever the punishment, it has already happened. This was over a month ago.
  2. The judge is pushing back on roster limits to the extent they impact currently rostered athletes. https://www.si.com/fannation/name-image-likeness/nil-news/house-v-ncaa-judge-wilken-threatens-reject-settlement-over-roster-limits
  3. And the guys with 30 or more matches had something in common. A lot of loses. 63 of them took 586 loses (and probably 2 more each during the tournament) to average 9.3 per.
  4. A lot of you guys are acting like load management is a PSU-only thing. Going into the NCAA tournament there were nine undefeated wrestlers. And none of them had a shot at 30-0.
  5. Based on the Big Board data you shared with me in the past the expected AA's for PSU is 7 and the expected AA's for OSU is 9. While those both seem a touch low I think they are directionally correct. Top 10 BB recruits AA more than twice as often as those ranked 11-20 (2.3 vs 1.1). Since OSU has 3 top 10's to PSU's 2 top 10's, you have to give OSU the edge.
  6. I want to expand on my answer a bit. Do you people in Intermat hate nerds? No one on this message board is nerdier than I am. If you look at any of my content it is all about the math and probabilities. While I do not get universal love, I get damn near universal love for that content. But who would want universal love anyway? That would be boring and not help you to grow. I have found this community to be VERY open to new ideas and ways of looking at things. Be original and interesting and no one will care if you are a nerd. Am I gonna get bullied and ostracized? In Intermat? Sure a little, but that depends. You will find that you do not agree with every point of view or every method of expressing them. This will bother you a lot at first. But after a while it will bother you less. When it is bothering you the most you will be tempted to engage. But engaging is a choice. If you do not engage people tend to leave you alone. And if people get really unreasonable, the mods do a good job of banning people, or putting them on pause for a while. In the wider world? Sure. We all get bullied to some extent. But I think wrestling is very accepting of hard work. Hard work is easy to see and even easier to respect. Take a guy like Mitchell Mesenbrink. He is as nerdy as you will find in wrestling, but he is also respected for his high attack rate and mental approach.
  7. Depends on who you ask. One reason I did that was to get a sense of traffic on the different sites. In the 14 hours since I posted this the numbers look like this: Intermat - 668 views HVI (PSU) - 331 On3 (PSU) - 174 HR (Iowa) - 564 34 and Counting (OK ST) - 207 Rutgers - 254
  8. I have not found a good source for scraping NCAA results, so that is all manual. When I do my expected points and AA's I scrape the rankings from Intermat, Flo and WrestleStat. Most everything else is derived data.
  9. six (two PSU forums, Iowa, Oklahoma State, Rutgers, and here)
  10. I don't think it is good for the sport for UVU to be pillaging other schools like this. After PSU invests in them UVU just swoops in and takes them. It aint right.
  11. It's worse than that. Excel was just the gateway drug.
  12. This whole thing has been a cry for help.
  13. In spite of the fact that it ended with the biggest upset of the tournament, 285 was the most chalk weight. The sum of absolute deviations from seed was 77, just ahead of 125 at 81.5. This also made the heavies the second most chalk weight since the 33 seed era began. Only 165 in 2019 was more chalk. At the other end of the spectrum 141 was the most busted bracket this year (but only sixth most in the 33 seed era). A lot of the "bust" came from five of nine guys seeded to go 0-2 finishing with win(s), and three higher seeded wrestlers doing the opposite.
  14. Not to worry, Trump and his cabinet have less than 4 years remaining of their predatory incursion.
  15. For very personal reasons, I sure hope not. #nerdsunite
  16. In Times Of War. We are not at war.
  17. The NCAA is getting its ducks in a row in anticipation of the House settlement being approved. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/44787232/ncaa-proposes-new-rules-allow-direct-payments-players
  18. https://www.npr.org/2025/04/21/nx-s1-5371312/trump-white-house-pete-hegseth-defense-department A little smoke there.
  19. Good question. The only thing I can think of is the re-weighting of some criteria, but not sure of anything else.
  20. Do you think a person who has a history of doing exactly what he is accused of doing, and just fired three people he accused of leaking information about what he has done, is more likely, or less likely to have done it more than once?
