  1. Gabe Arnold at least appears to remain all in on the program.
  2. It came as a surprise to Spencer, apparently. But according to insider types on HR, it was not a surprise to the staff.
  3. Meh. I can see the logic of believing Iowa was a certain kind of place, then seeing them recruiting people you view as trashcan humans and that altering your perception. "If they'd recruit them, maybe they're not the program I thought they were."
  4. I'm not totally opposed to what you're saying re: the team prospects, but I think you're wrong on this point. Not wanting to be associated with the older two Ferrari brothers doesn't seem to me to be a sign of weakness...it's a point in your favor. I mean....sure. But Chittum isn't Jordan, he doesn't have that kind of juice at this point. I don't think Jordan would have been able to keep Isiah off the 1988 Olympic Team if pros had been allowed to play. The only recent guys on Iowa that MIGHT have had that juice are Spencer and Metcalf, and even then...probably not. College sports are still different.
  5. He's not dumb. He's trolling Iowa. It's a pretty brilliant troll. Having read his posts for years, my interpretation, as you may have seen me write is that he's PennSyate fan posing as an Iowa fan who is posing as a Penn State fan. Layered.
  6. Ok, so if we call him the Republican frontrunner/sexual abuser, is that better?
  7. Iowa has the problem of high achieving compared to every other program (other than PSU, obviously) but underperforming their standards. What Iowa is doing right now is good enough if "trophy team" is enough, but not good enough if team championships is the goal.
  8. Biggest laugh of the day so far, lol.
  9. Good luck on that last one. This obviously isn't good, but there's a lot of wildly overblown doomsaying going on as well. The program is worse than they were yesterday, but they're still fine and a probable trophy team. They are not, however, at an acceptable level to me as a fan where they look primed to challenge for team titles, and that's a problem.
  10. Well...Minnow and Chittum himself. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/college/iowa-state/wrestling/2023/05/09/cody-chittum-junior-national-champ-flips-from-iowa-to-iowa-state-wrestling-ncaa-wrestling-recruiting/70199851007/
  11. And now we've reached the ridiculous portion of this discussion, lol.
  12. For anybody doubting the "Ferrari Effect." https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/college/iowa-state/wrestling/2023/05/09/cody-chittum-junior-national-champ-flips-from-iowa-to-iowa-state-wrestling-ncaa-wrestling-recruiting/70199851007/
  13. If Iowa could get Burroughs to come into the program, that would be the biggest possible win.
  14. I'm looking forward to the flip by some from "Chittum is overrated, he's not that great" to "what a recruit!" that we're going to be seeing all across the wrestling internet. Personally, I thought he was going to be good at Minnesota, was ecstatic that he came to Iowa, and now am bummed that I think he'll be great for Iowa State.
  15. If it wasn't clear from my post, I agree.
  16. I'm not necessarily in on putting them to pasture, but there needs to be a coaching staff shakeup IMO. More diversity of thought/style on the staff, guys with different wrestling styles to expose the athletes to different ideas on how to wrestle. I've thought that for a long time that Iowa is too intent on the "Iowa Man" being the program. They're always going to be buoyed somewhat by the program name, but consistently threatening for team titles seems far away at the moment. If they're not willing to consider any changes, though....
  17. Well, apparently about 83% of HR. EDIT: There were people on here claiming that I was bullshitting about not wanting Anthony or AJ. Not that I could have specifically seen it being THIS bad THIS fast, but the upside was extremely, extremely limited.
  18. Ahh, the last Jimmy thread on chittum at least, since he can't use him to troll Iowa. Who will he target now? Best guess? Ayala.
  19. I take no joy in being extremely correct on the Ferrari stuff.
  20. Reporting is a very strong word for.whats happening right now.
  21. https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2019/crime-in-the-u.s.-2019/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-8.xls Here. His number of firearm is not from any year from 2015 until 2023. That would be the first statistic he "cites." Even these numbers are undercounts because states are not reporting full data. This is obvious because in 2019 Florida claims 1 murder on the data, and I can confirm that, just in my medium sized county for that year in Florida, there were 42 reported homicides.
  22. HIS ASSERTIONS ARE PURPORTED STATISTICS THAT HE DOESN'T GIVE ANY CITATION TO, SO THEY CAN'T BE DISPROVEN BECAUSE WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THEY'RE REAL STATISTICS. Geez man, this is mind-numbingly stupid, even for you. "Disprove this information, but I won't tell you where or when it's from!" If you're JUST looking for other statistics to show that what he claims in the video is not the actual statistics in other scenarios, that has already been provided, multiple times. You're asking me to specifically disprove his statistics without any source to look at the statistics other than your beloved YouTube video, which also doesn't cite where the statistics are coming from.
  23. He can win just fine with me. I'll be rooting for him hard at his next competition. I don't have to be willfully blind to be a fan.
  24. It can't be done because he doesn't cite his sources, geezus man. I don't know where he's getting his data or what year it's from, because a quick search doesn't show the numbers he's citing popping up anywhere EXCEPT his video and things citing his video. It's a tautology of nonsense.
