  1. Examples that run counter to what you're claiming are being provided and you're just like "...nah, doesn't count."
  2. Yes, and the cardio issues are being way overblown here. He's tired late in matches, after wrestling much harder than most in the first period, but he's rarely "gassed", except his first match this year, and the first match two seasons ago. There's a difference between being tired and gassing out.
  3. Why not stop being weird and just say what you're trying to insinuate?
  4. Right now your argument centers around him not being able to beat men because they come from less wealthy countries and thus want to feed their families, as if there's never been a wealthy wrestling champion. Didn't Lebedev's family like own a diamond mine or something? It's all 1960's "eat your cereal with grit if you want to be tough like the champ" mentality. He has struggled later in matches during the regular season, but where has he been at the end of every season, usually wrestling multiple full matches? And we're insinuating a lack of toughness as if he hasn't torn his ACL(s) multiple times and wrestled thru it (including mid match). That's about as much adversity as you're going to find on the mat, and yet here we are.
  5. Dude, you're critiquing me for being biased for being an Iowa fan while making nonsensical points after admitting that you formed opinions about him from years ago.
  6. Yes, if he doesn't pin or tech somebody, he is more likely to lose, that is kind of self-evident, I'm not even sure what the analysis that is happening right now is, lol.
  7. Christ man. His ACL has torn twice, in the middle of matches, including an NCAA final, but he hasn't had to face adversity. This thread is a true testament to arm-chair quarterbacking, lol.
  8. Dude, you're on here talking as if Lee retired and never accomplished anything in Freestyle, when he is still an active wrestler. Are YOU alright? Have you come from the future to tell us what transpires? BTW, not like the US has some amazing trove of highly technical wrestlers at 57, either.
  9. Again, we're talking as if Lee has been retired for several years and lamenting about what could have been. Also we have another guy waxing on about his lack of technical acumen while also claiming he should have left college wrestling and only wrestled international. If he's not that level of talent, what does it matter?
  10. The way @LJB and others (but primarily LJB) are talking, you would think Spencer Lee retired 6 years ago and we're assessing his career in retrospect. We all understand he's still wrestling, correct?
  11. I mean...other than Penn State, this is true for all the rest of college wrestling at some weight range, or most weight ranges.
  12. It's such a crazy standard Lee is held to vs. literally any college wrestler i can remember. "Yeah, sure, he reversed and pinned his returning AA, top 10 ranked opponent while being up huge, on the tail end of a streak of pinning 7 wrestlers in the first period. Including two separate third ranked guys,.but I see flaws...."
  13. WHAT A RETURN TO THE FORUMS! Better than I could have ever expected. 10/10.
  14. If the pastry wrestles at 157, I've got Siebrecht winning.
  15. Man, Minnesota is down bad right now. None of the starters are currently championship level. Do they have any big guns in redshirt?
  16. Abe and Brooks have wrestled twice, two decisions. It may be that 157 is the weight PSU is most likely to win after the Champs, but he's still a relatively unproven freshman and it's a funky match up. I say that as somebody who picked Haines.
  17. I missed the Dow pin playing with my kid. The slow motion replay looked really fast, but also, maybe don't get thrown to your back?
  18. Yes. Stagnated might be a better term, if it makes you feel better. Just my opinion.
  19. Only because Hamiti seems to have regressed a bit. I think it's stylistically very difficult for Kennedy, but would love to be wrong.
  20. He would be in the hospital.
  21. Known as the SocraVak Corollary.
  22. Did they just call a whizzer potentially dangerous?
  23. Gomez is awesome. Iowa's biggest team-wide deficiency is most of them seem wholly uncomfortable in scramble situations. Spencer, Real, and Siebrecht are the only ones who seem not terrified there. Cass is ok for a HWT.
