Yes they lost but a lot of games came out with a lot of fire.

Especially:

  • Dean Peterson (who almost threw Lilledahl on his head to start the match)
  • Bailey (who avenged his loss to Davis)
  • Block (who got a TD on SVN)
  • Williams (gave Duke all he could handle)
  • Arnold (gave #1 Haines all he could handle)
  • Even their freshman 197 held his own for awhile.

If I'm an Iowa fan I come out of this feeling pretty good actually.

Core a jalepeno and stuff with either cream cheese or cheddar.  Wrap hot sausage around the popper then bacon wrap the sausage.  Smoke of 1 hour then wrap in aluminum foil with I like phil's sweet chili sauce but experiment.

What's you favorite drink with ^^^ above?

A boozy milkshake.  Dairy cuts down on the heat as the hot sausage I get is pretty warm.

Look at PSU ducking. Oh wait, they just smoked the #4 team in the country like a brisket. Let's be honest - all the ducking bs we hear is just hate masked as concern trolling. Pathetic. Instead of enjoying the best college program in history, they decide to bitch and moan like bitches and moaners. @TNwrestlingcalled them out. Now he's quiet like a good dog.

Nothing special but I did cook bacon wrapped pheasant and quail on the grill for Christmas dinner.  Pre marinated in pickle juice hot sauce mix.

Spaghetti IN Meatballs is also a nice dish.   Cook the pasta Al dente and drain but do not rinse.  Quickly spin the spaghetti on a fork onto a cookie sheet.  The starch by not rinsing will help the spaghetti hold together.  Freeze the cookie sheets while making your favorite meatball recipe.   Takes about 5 pounds of meatball mix for a pound of spaghetti.  Wrap the frozen pasta with the meatball mix.   The meatballs will be very large.  I usually get about 15 meatballs.

I smoke them but you can cook them like you would a normal meatball.  I've also smoked the marinara sauce and cooked the meatball like normal.

Is it good to partake in a nice Porter beer while prepping?

I’ve found that a good anchovy crushed in a mortar really sets the marinara off. Almost a puttanesca.

For last week's cheese grater game of the week I smoked a few pounds of pickled wings. It was no pheasant or quail, but there were no survivors so I'll take it. Did some poor man burnt ends and hatch chili mac & cheese on the rest of the grates with similar success.

This week is going to be lamb lollipops because Bears eat Rams and some over the top chili (personally a big fan of the Drew Magary recipe on the smoker)

i am an idiot on the internet

Can confirm from being in attendance at tonight’s dual - not impressed. There were more stalling calls than takedowns. Yes, some matches were close on the scoreboard.. but if you really watch the matches, the Iowa guys were not being offensive enough to have a legit chance to win. Not close. The gap between Iowa and Penn State is only growing apart more.

It’s not hate, it’s just stating facts. Carl ducks competition for half the season. You look stupid denying it

Watching Iowa makes me sad.  They are just falling further and further behind in the technique, and really the product, that they put on the mat.

It’s been harped on for a while, but I think the brands really really need to get someone in there running their room who has the creativity and experience to evolve and grow with the directions that wrestling is moving in.  The sport basically gets a new meta (to borrow the jiu jitsu terminology), every three years or so.  They shouldn’t leave or retire, but they need someone in the room like, maybe kyle dake, who can absolutely stomp everyone, but who also is a free thinker in wrestling and wrestling concepts.

“pasta puttanesca” is called that because of the addition of anchovy “alici” I don’t like it in my sauce but use the technique you described to make my own Caesar salad dressing.

100% agree with this!  Anyone who disagrees is too simple minded to see the bigger picture.

I suspect that Nolf is, at this point, a technique grandmaster. I hope he eventually gets into coaching

Jimmy predicts 5 wins for Iowa.  They win 1.  Then he claims Iowa was impressive.   Sounds like an economist for the federal government.

Iowa was as impressive as Jimmy's ability to predict results.

Dispassionate Penn State grad and fan.

JC makes some good points even if he is being provocative.  Only so much their guys can do up against the crazy talent and skills of PSU.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
