I think if we ever really understood the level of corruption in our state local and federal governments it would shake us to the core.

Half of my dad's social security goes to pay his property taxes. I wonder why.

Aid should flow from the state general fund to local governments, allowing them to maintain services (e.g., roads, public safety, libraries) without proportionally increasing property taxes. Every hardworking Minnesota property owner gets screwed by the fraud to some degree.

Yep.  It’s getting passed on to everyone.  It’s ridiculous what the property taxes are going up to.   And they wonder why people are moving

I wonder if a big reason they are so rampant about it, on both sides, is because they know their base will talk about how all politicians are crooked, but in reality will only look to hold the other side to account, while constantly engaging in defense and deflection for their side?  So they know they can be corrupt cuz folks won’t have the balls to vote them out.
