And that would simply mean follow the tax code/law correct?

Yes but property taxes should be the KING of all taxes. They are the best and fairest of all the taxes ( particularly real estate). We should have a federal and state property tax, in addition to local.

It's literally the opposite. Far from fair. You just like it because you want to punish wealthy people. Property tax pays for local government. It should be proportionate. Progressive is the opposite of fair.

If you own more property, you pay higher taxes. Nothing fairer than that. As stated, there's limited property available. It's a finite resource.

We MUST tax the rich more. Otherwise, the poor won't have money to buy their products and the rich will simply hoard their money and it will get removed from circulation.

Then write your representatives and change the law.

Possibly the most moronic thing I've heard in a long time. This shows a total lack of basic economic understanding.

No. It's econ 101. Eliminate property taxes and real estate prices will literally go through the roof.

You don't understand value, or economics. If you raise a cost on something then the customer pays more.  If you raise the property taxes on Walmart then shoppers pay more. There are natural balances. People are willing to pay more for property that doesn't eat up it's value in wasteful government expenses. Government doesn't do anything efficiently or good, and when the left gets their hands on the money it gets way worse. Noted by the billions used to buy votes in Minnesota and the rest of the country.

Yes and if u tax property more, real estate prices go down or at least stabilize. That's a good thing for society as a whole in the long run.

Eliminate property taxes and the rich will gobble up the land faster than Jimmy can tell a lie and the avg younger person will never own real estate

I don't think reality shows what you claim is true.  High property tax raises the cost of everything. The more money the government pulls out of the economy the worse it is for the people who make the economy work. People who take from Government are the only ones who may remotely benefit. However that only lasts for as long as it takes for people to pick up and move.

A small strip mall near my home lost a bunch of business due to losing access from the road being reworked. There was a brand new Pharmacy built on an out lot that closed because of the loss of business. After about 2 years. The property owner determined it was financially better to tear the building down than pay the tax . When government creates scenarios like this, nobody benefit. Government is at best a necessary evil. That's why this country did so much better when we had more limited government.

Elevated property taxes would not only burden wealthy owners but would be passed on to rents and leases.  Elevating the price, or value, of real estate increases the wealth of property owners, rich and poor.  While confiscatory taxes should be avoided everywhere, property taxes for single family dwellings should be minimal, and possibly eliminated based on age and income.  It’s not right that someone like @El Luchador’s parents should have to sell their home, that they worked their lives to pay for and maintain, so the gov’t can provide for a bunch of non productive immigrants.

The wealthy will always seek tax havens for their money.  It probably wouldn’t be wise to eliminate all property taxes.  But the homestead exemption should be maximized for the elderly, based on income.  There is no shortage of land, there’s just an over abundance of restrictions to building and illegal immigrants needing subsidized dwelling.

Opposition to private property is a major communist plank.  The right to private property ownership, along with recorded, documented verification, is the root of the prosperity in capitalist United States.

I wonder if they teach boys how to use tampons.  Can you believe how ridiculous this man is.  He's the poster child for why communism is bad.

Taxing real estate is completely different from making it all public. 110% strawman argument.
