Just keep in mind that the poem was part of a drive for the funds to construct a pedestal for the statue.  The sentiment has never been enshrined in the policy, statutes, nor founding documents of the nation.  In fact, about a generation after the plaque was installed, immigration was severely curtailed to prevent the country being overwhelmed by immigrants, allowing those present to become assimilated.  Something in low supply right now.

!00%.  I had this same dispute with TripnCreep.  He also brought up "The New Colossus," and actually claimed it was officially part of US public policy.  lol

Still haven’t overcome that rank TDS, Isee.  I don’t recall anyone making such a remark, either.  Have you abandoned your pretentious posturing of the Hegseth/Trump/narco-terrorist ordeal?  You should have learned by now that getting giddy over anonymously sourced claims of Trump Administration depravity never rises to meet your dreams.  What’s interesting is the mentality of continuously falling for the gaslighting.  Numerous people sharing similar beliefs isn’t necessarily an example of parroting, we call it a party.

The point I was trying to make was we don't need to import dependent people, and people who will always be dependent because they just simply cannot function in our society with such low intelligence. You cannot absorb 1000s of people incapable of self-sufficiency into small communities and expect those communities to thrive.

I don’t recall anyone making such a remark, either.  I would suggest then comprehending what you have read in this thread, from the very start.

Have you abandoned your pretentious posturing of the Hegseth/Trump/narco-terrorist ordeal? I haven't abandoned anything, but there wasn't any pretentious posturing.  What I have relayed is my position on the matter, which included discussing if facts come out and they are consistent with the reporting, it doesn't look good.  I guess the difference between you and me is that TI realize the President and Hegseth saying something doesn't make it facts. We haven't had anything come out definitively since, other than the admiral himself stating in front of congress that their ship was capsized and there was no indications they were able to communicate with any of their partners.  Other than that, its some people saying one thing about what they saw in the video, and other people saying something different about what they say in the video.  That's not enough for me.  Will be interesting to see if they release the video of the second strike.  I mean Hegseth says that when it comes to doing that, protecting tactics and procedures is important.  But I wonder what there is in the second part of the video to meet that end that there isn't in the first part of the video....because they sure released that part pretty quickly while sitting on the second part.  Further, I still question the legality of this whole program, as I believe these boats and the people killed on them as drug runners at most, but not at all terrorists.  But that's a whole other element to the discussion.

You should have learned by now that getting giddy over anonymously sourced claims of Trump Administration depravity never rises to meet your dreams.  What’s interesting is the mentality of continuously falling for the gaslighting. I can assure you I don't get "giddy" over any of this stuff.   What is interesting to me is seeing you say that as well as talking about people continuously falling for gaslighting.  Very interesting

Numerous people sharing similar beliefs isn’t necessarily an example of parroting, we call it a party. True, but there is an added layer here which is what I was referring to.  For example, "Somali's are all worthless shit" never being a topic on here....well until the President said that's what you should think, then all of the sudden its a pretty hot topic, as I said evidenced by the commentary over the weekend.  Being in a party is fine, what's disappointing is seeing so many simple minded and not being able to think for themselves, they have to run with whatever their party tells them they should think and god forbid every having the audicity to hold members of their own party accountable.   It's weak, people should expect better of themselves.

Again, why policy used to be that there was a US sponsor that was held liable for maintenance of the individual coming in.   This so gov assistance would not be needed to maintain this person.   This used to be policy.   You can bet Mr sponsor is not going to forever support this person, they will have to get legal to work and then go to work.

Caveira, you conveniently left out the entire sentence: "Somali's are all worthless shit" never being a topic on here....well until the President said that's what you should think, then all of the sudden its a pretty hot topic, as I said evidenced by the commentary over the weekend.

The words in quotes were not quoting someone individually, but rather identifying the sudden hot topic among this board after the President began talking shit about all Somali's, as is written out in the remainder of that sentence.  A reasonable person capable of reading comprehension (see also, and this is a direct quote of an individual: "I don't recall seeing a gene pool comment"), could comprehend that, using those things call 'context clues'.  However, I admit when dealing with the simple minded, things need to be made.....simpler.   And I did put quotes around the words, so I will own that.

That said, I stated a number of things, in the post you quoted above as well as elsewhere in this thread, and I made a number of points that you can agree with or disagree with.  This gives you the opportunity to lay out for me/us why you agree or disagree with those points.  But if that's the best you guys can come up with for your responses.....well, we all know what that really means.

On this site.  References  to our poor immigration policy with Somalia started coming up September 12.   Trump started bagging on Somalia in 2015. So your silly insinuation that someone somehow influenced that is just silly.    It brings up them being a burden.   Expensive.   Not assimilating  into our culture etc Link->

i made a topic regarding Somalia as a Democrat senator insinuated my tax money should be going there.  I don’t agree with that.   Do you agree with our tax money going to Somalia?

I made a separate thread (maybe more than one) about the similar shit show in Dearborn Michigan a long time ago (October) too.

Your first copied post is titled ‘Morbid Celebration of Ideological Murder’, and neither it nor your initial post references anything about people of Somalia.  It was 12 pages so I didn’t read all of it just now, but I did look through the first and last pages and no references to Somalia, let alone the people of Somalia, let alone lumping all of the people of Somalia into one characterization.

Your second copied post is about Dearborn and again, no reference to the people of Somalia or lumping all of them into one characterization.

If you want to be considered a….serious person….you’ll have to do better.  But I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening.  I will check back in a couple of days and see if you have dug deeper and found something that actually relates to what I was talking about.  (The bold italics were included to provide you with those aforementioned context clues)

I was astonished to hear this statistic. We are importing massive numbers of people who are literally to ignorant to function independently in our society. If we want to make America better, we should look at adding intelligence into the gene pool, not dependence.

I LOLed at this.  It's a very unfortunate typo to have whilst insulting the intelligence of an entire country.

I don't think the test is measuring what you want it to measure at least not everywhere.  I suspect the difference is due to inaccurate testing rather than an entire continent having low cognitive ability.

Ah the standard leftist answer to everything they don't like "it can't be true"

Nobody knows how to give an IQ test especially those who professionally give IQ tests, but anonymous guys on message boards they know best. It is actually well known that sub-Saharan Africa is consistently low in IQ, sorry if the facts bother you. Did they not know what they were doing when Israel and Japan came out on top? Or do they only not know what they're doing when they give information you don't like?

Yet another swing and miss:

1)  The thread you copied predominately talks about the AG, Joe Thompson, Tim Walz, and the DOE.  Yes on the subject of Somalia, but not at all the context of which I was writing the other day.

2) Find where I have said "I hate......." anything.   I challenge you to find one post where I have stated that.   Here's a tip, you won't.  I have no hate, no matter how dumb or nasty I believe someone or some movement to be.   I'ts a orthless emotion.  What I have said, and each day is proving more and more to be true, is that MAGA in reality has nothing to do with the idea of making America great again, and I would like to see all "MAGA" minioins out of office.  I've even  explained that and broken down why I believe that.   As I said to you in the other thread, learn to absorb what you are reading.  If I may make a suggestion, hold off on posting for while until you've improved that skill........you're not benefitting yourself by showing your ignorance, or you knee-bending TDS.

Nobody knows how to give an IQ test especially those who professionally(which professionals were cited?) give IQ tests, but anonymous guys on message boards they know best. It is actually well known that sub-Saharan Africa is consistently low in IQ,(what does an IQ test or IQ scores mean about a person's intelligence?) sorry if the facts bother you. Did they not know what they were doing when Israel and Japan came out on top?(again, who collected this data?) Or do they only not know what they're doing when they give information you don't like? (Like the student at OU, you have failed to cite your sources)

Your score: 0/25

BTW: if you’re trying to insult someone’s intelligence please use the correct ‘TOO ignorant’ not ‘to ignorant’

It doesn’t matter whether one likes or dislikes the test results nor the political leanings of that person.  The only thing that matters is if it’s an accurate measurement of intelligence or not.

You have interpreted the test scores in Somalia to mean that Somalis are “to ignorant to function independently in our society” and that allowing them to immigrate would be adding “dependence” and not intelligence to the gene pool.  This assumes that the IQ score from the test is a measure of some kind of innate intelligence determined by genetics, but is that really what the test measures?

One well known feature of IQ tests is that they are normalized to have an average score of 100 with a standard deviation of 15.  With the numbers you quoted is pretty clear this test was normalized to US test results - US is the country with an average of 100.  The test is renormalized over time to keep the mean and standard deviation the same.  A well documented observation is that the raw unnormalized IQ scores have increased over time both in the US and worldwide.  This trend is referred to as the Flynn effect and the increase is about 3 raw IQ points per decade in the US.

Flynn calculated that the average American in 1900 would score 67 on an IQ test in the year 2000.  He judged this increase to be too large to be explained by genetic changes in only a few generations.  He thought environmental changes like education  were more likely.  This makes for an interesting comparison.  The average Somali today probably has a raw IQ that is the same as the average American from your grandparents generation.  Were your grandparents “to ignorant to function independently” in today’s society?  Did their genetics introduce dependence to the gene pool?

Also calculating the IQ of an entire generation that isn't even alive isn't factual, it all theoretical. I actually believe generations before us we much smarter. They were far more independent and had to be to stay alive. They were the generations that gave us everything out of nothing. That is not something accomplished by a low intelligence generation. The somalis have not taken their culture to even early 19th century advancement. They are society that is completely dependent.

This isn’t a theoretical calculation.  IQ tests have been administered continuously for over 100 years.  Students get far more questions right on them today than 100 years ago.  In the US students take these tests very early in their education like 1st or 2nd grade.  Where I went to school I think we took it in 1st grade and again in maybe 3rd or 4th grade.  There is a good chance you first took the test when your grandparents were still alive and students were getting more questions correct than when your grandparents took the test.

I think you are misinterpreting what this means.  It doesn’t mean that it was a “low intelligence generation” any more than it means Somalia is a low intelligence country.  Certainly many Somalis and Americans from your grandparent’s generation would struggle to complete many task that are common in today’s workplace, but that is a function of education and environmental factors rather than intelligence in their genes.

Furthermore keep in mind that the numbers being compared are the average. Most of the gains in raw IQ over the past century have been from improvement in the lowest scores getting higher. You should look at the most prevalent jobs in the US a hundred years ago compared with today.  They were largely practical with little need for abstraction - farmer, laborer, factory worker.   These are job many Somalis could easily do.  In fact the century before last many Africans were forcibly immigrated to do similar jobs.  When talking about the average we weren’t considering the people doing breakthrough research.
