Dark Horses

Agree.  Probably would make more sense to not include anyone that is ranked & blue chip recruits making their first start.  But when the questioned is phrased "anyone outside the top 10" it broadens who qualifies.

Oh definitely.  I would like to see both lists, though. 😂 True dark horses and those outside of the top ten with legit podium chances.

I'll throw in Chase Saldate as a dark horse to AA.  I think he meets the criteria.

MMA aficionados will throw out that they remember Khabib Nurmagomedov choking him out when he (Saldate) was still in H.S.

I agree, though.  Good call there.  The coaching staff has been bullish in saying that he has made a leap this offseason, so I am looking forward to his success.

Lol!  I thought the Russian tie snap with Makachev is what he is most famous for.  Still remember when it went viral.

Amos lost to Cardenas 3-1 in SV last November.  I'm told that Cardenas hasn't done anything special since.

Y'all sure are being dramatic still.

I was ignorant as to how prestigious and effective Cornell's drama club was these days.

bolded ones I especially agree.  I really hope Mesenbrink starts.  He wrestled 165 in the wrestle-off which was a bit confusing unless that was just for show.

yeah, i noticed that (Mesenbrink's wrestle off weight) after i finished that piece.

i would guess if he goes this year it will be at 157 though. (i don't think you'd throw a TR FR in the 165 meatgrinder this year).

that being said, he's the one guy who i have in that set of rankings whose RS status, to me, is unclear.

TBD

I’ll throw Lachlan McNeil’s name in at 141. He wrestles a high pace, is solid on his feet, and has some nice wins this year. UNC guys also generally overperform their seed at the NCAA tournament. I think Lachlan is pretty likely to at least make the blood round and depending on his matchup can win there to AA as a redshirt freshman.

I know the wrestlers haven't gotten to the podium yet but kudos to @Husker_Dufor having Pinto on his radar.  I'm also liking my Saldate pick.  Lots a great early season picks fellas

Pinto is a damn stud! He gave Salazar from Minnesota all he can handle, and Pinto has gotten even better since then
