I think if Kyler can keep the deficit to to a two takedown lead early, he'll win it.  If he gets sloppy like he did against Botero early, he is going to lose.

I think Kaleb beats Swiderski relatively easy right now.  To the point that maybe OSU puts out Young or Teague(if Teague can make the weight).

When I did a dual comparison for ASU vs. Oklahoma State on WrestleStat they had # 59 rated Ronnie Ramirez as Kyler's opponent at 133 lbs.   Not Figueroa or McComas.   And they had Kyler winning 9-6 vs. Ramirez.

But they did have Kaleb Larkin vs. Swiderski with Larkin winning 8-7.

WS projected OSU winning this match 28-6 with the two Larkin brothers being the only winners for ASU.

Worth noting we likely see Pierson Manville vs Vega. Manville beat Vega 8-6 at u20 trials.

Vega seems like a real folk guy though....sure you were aware of that.

Definitely putting my money on Vega just thought it was worth noting. I think pierson is also a bit better in the international styles than folk.

I did notice that Manville gets no love in any of the rankings, but Vega has to be the favorite.   The Larkin matches will definitely be the highlight of the dual.  I think one of them wins.

Can someone please explain to me Kaleb Larkin's eligibility?

I think 3 years with the ability to petition for 4 including this year.

Gap year... Injury year...

So it goes gap year, red shirt, injury, and he is now a sophomore. Did he do a gao year due to injury?

I would imagine they did not yet petition for the medical so he is a sophomore eligibility wise. It seems very easy to retroactively get the medical now though.

Yes. Gap year for Hip surgery right after HS, RS year, ? Injury year.

I thought last year was an Olympic red shirt year. If so that was a waste since the trials were before school and the season started. I think Papa Larkin pulls the strings and wanted his boys wrestling together as long as possible and to be as old as possible.

Both Larkins were impressive.  I was a strong believer that this was Van Ness's year, but I do not think  he matches up with Larkin's length well at all. The younger Larkin will be a tough out. I do not think you will want him on your side of the bracket come March.

You can't ORS in any year other than an Olympic year. Last year, he could only get the eligibility back for a medical

Last year was an Olympic year. Larkin wrestled in the trials.

I think there was some speculation because of the state of ASU that the Larkins may leave at some point so I wanted to note that their younger brother Konner has committed to ASU. He is a 2027 so I think if there was any thought about leaving he probably would have delayed his commitment.
