No reason for Carr to take that shot when he was up 5 to 3. Aliev showing no offense whatsoever. Even the shot at 5-1 you could see he was just trying to hold on and get a stalemate because Valiev had great defense and he did score 2 there. Not a smart match for Carr in the second period.

Agree. He should have shut it down after the 4-pointer got challenged. 5-1 lead - make Valiev generate his own offense.

Who would’ve guessed out of Haines, Carr, and Lee that Levi would be the one in the Semis?

And that was no walk in the park.

If that is the order in which you are doing these things than I'm impressed

Honest question. Is this a real event or a joke?

when I lived in Ohio my cousin signed me up for the Wendy’s (fast food) triathlon. I thought it was a joke until I saw the registration email come to my inbox the next day.

50k is not joke, good luck pacing if it’s real!

I thought the opposite. He shot himself out of the match.

Shooting =/= wrestling.  If the other guy got all the points off of it, it means you stopped wrestling.

Every point scored in the second period was a result of a Carr shot.

I know.  Zero points scored.

Hidlay coming up soon?

No, he won.

Controlled it, despite Georgia not trying to let him get to that undertook.  It was like watching two 7th graders dance.  Arms straight out just trying to stop Thicclay from getting close enough to rip his shoulder out of socket with an underhook.

Hard cut for Lee? Or mental?

Honestly I don’t know, I think he was very flat, so was it the cut? Was it that he was burnt out by overtraining for this event? I don’t know, but I will say something controversial, I  have always felt that ever since Lee got pinned in the NCAA’s that there’s something else going on with him besides his banged up knees.

kinda thought he just got outwrestled. So much of his game is predicated on him getting on top. I love Spencer but I think he has this aura of invincibility because of how good he is on top when in reality he is generally not that separated on his feet. Zhou took him down like 4 times in 2 matches last year, RBY took him down, the azerbijan guy took him down at the ranking series, Rei took him down. Haryutunyan prior to gassing is not quite Rei on his feet but he is better than all those other guys I mentioned.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

This doesn't make sense but it also makes sense in my head . . . I feel Spencer is so strong in the mental game that it makes his mental game a weakness

Comparing Spenser to the best, his head hands / leg defense appears to be lacking.

And North Korea pins Hart … Spencer is out.

Sweet lat drop.  Note, Hart couldn’t get to NK’s legs.

Lee eliminated by Han's devastating headlock.

(Side note, for what it's worth... Darian Cruz is brought back into repechage. yay!)

and RBY, USA-USA matchup soon

Posted (edited)

Comparative scoring... 8-0 loss by Cruz vs 5-4 loss by Bravo-Young.

Rea for Ecuador (ALSO from USA via Stroudsburg HS in Monroe Co. Pa) stands in between Cruz & RBY.

Cruz / RBY favors RBY... but that's why they wrestle 'em.
