Pretty standard. The one that jumps out to me is Kade Brown being #18 at 149. He has a win from last year over #12 Clark and one from this summer over #10 Joy (Freestyle). His only loss to a guy still in college is #5 Paniro (other losses last year were to senior AAs). I am not saying he should be ranked top 10, but I am just curious about the thought process behind that, since these seem to be primarily results-based

I think the thought process is that he lost to Abas last year, who lost to Fernandez (Cornell) at NCAAs and Buesgens (NC State) at ACCs.  Doesn't seem to go much further than that.

Edit:  Freestyle results don't count/matter.

That makes sense, and I understand that freestyle doesn't count. However, Joy has no wins (although the quantity is impressive) over anyone in the top 20, so his ranking at 10 (even though his ability could warrant it) doesn't seem entirely logical to me based on the system they seemingly are employing

They typically do not rank incoming freshmen. If you were to rank the freshmen, who would they be, and where would you rank them?

133: Blaze 4

He might be the only guy I would rank off rip. (because you can only rank one of Duke/Kasak and Dee has no results to gauge with, on ability, he would be top 5) Other than Mendoza, I don't know of any other big name freshman who are projected to be  starting this year

I agree with you on the basis of Jaxon Joy being ranked as highly as him.  He had 29 wins compared to 1 loss.  They must be giving him lofty rankings based off his quantity of wins.  He has a loss to Catrabone, who is unranked, so I'm not sure the logic.

Yea I am assuming they have Catrabone at 157 where he did not have that many matches so he's not ranked? Or they are waiting for the 157/165 situation to sort itself out?

They have Cael Hughes at 141 ,Tagen Jamison at 149, and Teague Travis at 157 for the pokes.

Do they know something we don't know, did they forget about Swiderksi, or are they just guessing?

Didn't Swiderski himself post something about 141lbs?  Might have been 149lbs...

If Kasak is the PSU 157 I would rank him #1. He beat Taylor 2x, beat Shapiro and the one guy who beat him is now a 165.

I think most would agree if we were doing subjective ranking. But you can't rank the guy who took 3rd in a tournament above the guy who won it. Just like at 125, I think Lilledahl is the favorite at 125, but I don't think he should be ranked above Robinson or Spratley. They're just rankings. It's not that big of a deal.

It was 149. I'm very curious to see how those lower weights play out for OKST. There is a lot of talent in those first 5 weights.

Penn State has nobody ranked at 133.  Davis is ranked at 141.  I guess this means either Blaze, Ono or (unranked) Nagao at 133.

Which of the 3 do you eventually feel starts at 133?

2025-26
133 - Blaze (Ono Redshirt)
141 - Davis/Nagao

2026-27
133 - Ono
141 - Nagao (Blaze redshirt - or Nagao transfer)
149 - Davis (unless he redshirts - this is mainly a joke... I think Davis will be forced to Redshirt)

I think it makes sense to have Nagao at 141lbs and have Davis redshirt, unless Davis is just a much better option at this point.  If Davis isn't injured, I do think you let him go.  With that much talent, you never know when injuries might pile up, so use them while they are healthy.

I don't see Nagao successfully balancing  med school and wrestling next season. It's just too difficult in my opinion but god ha$ a plan.

Incredible deductive reasoning here.

He's been in State College a few years so it's either Yuengling or Rolling Rock.  Probably Rolling Rock because with a little bit of working out and Yuengling Shitz he'd be back down at 125 with ease

Always down for a Rolling Rock.
