Ohio State: What becomes of Bouzakis? Too good to sit on the bench
Virginia Tech: Can Gage Wright defeat incoming transfer Sergio Desiante?
Oklahoma State: can Brayden Thompson crack the lineup?
Cal Baptist: Kurt McHenry vs Cooper Shore in a transfer battle at 125
Iowa State: Melton Powe has been said to be quite impressive in workouts.  Any chance of him taking 165? from Riggins?  Connor Euton back in the mix as well

What are some other good ones?

Not sure how close this matchup is but Cornell: Ferrera vs Ungar?  (I would think Ungar would win)
another 125: Alan Koehler vs Kale Laurisden

Van Dee vs Ayoub
Robideau vs Teague
EJ parco vs Jack consiglio
Dillon Campbell vs Aaron seidel
whoever goes 149 for iowa state

One's that haven't been mentioned:

  • ISU: Paniro Johnson vs Jacob Frost at 149 OR Paniro vs Vinny Zerban at 157.
  • OSU: Richie vs Rin Sakamoto at 133; Jamison vs Swiderski at 149 (if Jamison goes 149, but as a Cowboy fan I'd prefer him stay down at 141)
  • Little Rock: Carter McCallister vs Jaivon Jones at 149

I am in complete agreement with you that it SHOULD not be competitive. But I figured I'd add it based solely on the summer success Rin has had. But I think it's Richie's spot to lose obviously.

How many years in college has it been for Bouzakis at this point?  I feel like I say this every time a guy is hitting his senior season, but...

Van Dee vs Ayoub is for 133.

I have to think Young is not in contention for 149. Especially after season when DT and co. opted for a banged up Teague over him at 149.

Agreed. The adjustment must be tough, esp with a language hurdle. I thought he looked completely lost in his match last year. Granted, he was thrown into the fire and it's just one data point. Six months is also an eternity in college sports time and I'm sure we'll see a big jump, but he's got a lot of muscle memory to overcome. He'll be a solid next man up since Figs has been battling injuries and will need a bit of load management

Sleeper pick at 174, Whiting picked up a 4-1 win last season, but riddle won at the open 9-3.  Riddle with a good off season placed at SR. Open, Sr. WTT, U23's.  Whiting returning NQ but not a crazy season.  Interested to see who they go with
