Catka redshirted in 2022, he battled Mullen for the starting spot last year. Should be good at Rutgers.

165 - Max Brignola, Lehigh, returns.  Went 18-0 in a redshirt season last year (wins over Ramirez and Mantanona, top 8 seeds at NCAAs); that doesn't count two wins over Louie Cerchio.

Lehigh returns four redshirts.  Crookham and Stanich were A/A's two years ago, Nathan Taylor was R-12 with two wins and two s/v losses.  If everyone stays healthy, this could be our best tournament team in more than a decade.

This is Hunter's brother at UVA...redshirted in 24/25.

not sure if he counts but I believe Kaleb larkin is returning from Grey shirt/Red shirt/ Med shirt so hopefully we finally get his debut year 4.

I think he is an automatic contender to be a high AA if he can stay healthy/find the right weight class, but that is based exclusively on his FS performances, considering he has wrestled 2 matches in Folk since graduating HS in 2022!

Should see Kyler Larkin in at ASU as well. Would think he would be an immediate impact guy. He is coming off a greyshirt as well. Those two in the lineup will make ASU better right away.

nhs67 mentioned Hunter, Ryan was brought up after but you're correct he would count assuming he wins the spot. Not too familiar with who else if anybody UVA has at HWT.

Omar Ayoub is going to have a battle to start but I think he could be great. Wrestled Larkin tough at Pan ams and I think is probably a better folk guy. Beat Diversent last year 7-4 and Diversent beat Noto,Burwick,Grice.

Gotta think Van Dee wins that spot. Obviously anything can happen, but I think Ayoub will have to be head and shoulders better to win that spot. So I think the path is slim for him this year.

Truzz- Ayoub is hard to get a hold of and really good with that open double from space after clearing the tie. He had a pretty good HS career. I think he is tall for 133 right? Could be problems for guys.

I don't see them starting him over returning AA VanDee. Unless Ayoub is head and shoulder better, which he very well may be. But having that AA chip on shoulder give you a huge leg up on roster battles.

Agree and makes sense. Ayoub just won bronze at U20, should be a good battle and a good battle of styles too. Either way with stuff like this you wonder if a guy portals after one way or another.

From the posted new roster for Penn (https://pennathletics.com/sports/wrestling/roster), it looks like Max Gallagher may be out this year and Davis Motyka (greyshirt last year?) may be available at 125 with freshman eligibility.  Also, looks like Kaya Sement is back this year - a regular starter two years ago and was not in action last year.  Finally, it looks like Alex Almeyda is back at 133 - not sure if he was available last year or burned a year of eligibility?  He is listed as a junior but not sure what that tells us in terms of NCAA or Ivy eligibility.   With Martin Cosgrove, at least four new faces in the lineup.  Not too sure how it will get sorted - plenty of questions in the upper weights particularly and no idea at 174.

Maybe:

Motyka, Almeyda, Composto, Wasilewski, Swisher, Sement, 174?, Taylor, Coisgrove, Pardo

Somebody smarter tell me what might happen at 174 for the Quakers?

He just made 134 flat two days in a row so has to be closer to 33 than 41 but 33 could be a pull during B10 dual season. But I agree he’s big for 33 for sure. VanDee or Hardy pick your poison I guess. Nebraska also has incoming Frosh Hockaday who is really really good listed at 33 on their roster as well who will RS.
