Dealers choice me thinks

I don't think there's a possible dark horse to win. I think the champ comes out of the group of Robinson, LL, Sprat, Ventresca, or Jore. And none of those would be a dark horse imo.

Dark horse to podium: Provo and Kael Lauridsen.

How many people predicted Spratley to be in finals last year? I’d bargain not many. 125 always has shock and awe in the bracket. Not gonna be surprised if Provo wins

Mark Anthony Mcgowan would be my pick if he can stay on the mat. Diego sotelos to ability will keep him in every match as well and the training situation at Michigan will be a lot better.

It'd better be a lot better.  Sotelo has lost to three *current* Cornell guys over the years, and wrestlestat has him at #28.

definitely not picking him to be a champ but I think he could AA. He has beaten Noto,Gallagher,Seymour in the past. I think Greg is also a guy that could get on the podium he just never seemed to develop a ton of offense besides his boot scoot but I know his health has always been an issue.

those that have been around Spratley, knew he had a true shot at it.  I missed his 1st year at OSU, I will admit, I thought he would have done better. With that being said, Lightning Luke is going to be hard to beat this year and that is my call for the title.

He was at an Ivy school.  Of course he would face Ivy kids.

To the spratley conversation. Its hard for me to see him beating Luke I think both have improved similarly however luke has killed him in freestyle when they have wrestled it seems like a very hard matchup for spratley.

I hope Greg becomes an AA this season. His collegiate career never really got off the ground, which is unfortunate for a 5 x state champion. Getting stuck behind Vito at 125 that one year didn’t help matters, as it probably cost him a year of collegiate experience that could have helped him in subsequent years. And then there were injuries, IIRC.

I think injuries were part of it and I dont think he could beat Ungar. Greg seems like the type of guy that having a feel for helps a lot and Ungar is so stingy and inactive on his feet I would imagine greg could not get much going and then probably had issues on bottom. Hope nothing but the best for him this year also excited to see what Elijah can do I think he has a really high ceiling with the way he wrestles for his size.

The point was that at one school there are, right now, three guys who Sotelo lost to.

Which means only one that he can lose to at Natties.

I like what Milano showed last year.  I want to see him at 125lbs for them.

He was in that same Michigan class w/ Braeden Davis (Penn State), Drew Heethus (Princeton), and Caden Horwath (Michigan?).  I would love to see all four of them have success at the D1 level.

Having watched all these guys pretty much every time they wrestled, I'm guessing that it will be Greg D at 125 and Tyler Ferrara at 133 this year.  Greg will graduate and Knox will enter the room in 2025/26 and take 125.  Ferrera has three years left.

(and it is "Milani")

That's quite the reach. You're predicting the #1 seed true freshman, 3rd place finisher, and Final X wrestler to win? The thread title is 125 dark horse. Who is your prediction at 165?
