i could imagine a few reasons but, why? They waiting for some legal stuff to play out?

He wanted to speak out immediately after the article was released and the university wouldn’t let him , which in hindsight was the right call bc if he speaks out more then likely some other news organizations would’ve picked up and ran the story

Not guilty of what?   He hasn't been charged with anything.  The police are not pursuing the theft case anymore, no way is anyone charging a wrestler for a butt drag, bullying isn't a crime.   The only thing he can be charged with that has been publicly alleged is the rape and the victims haven't gone public so it seem unlikely they want a trial.

Bullying actually IS a crime.

Not reporting a sexual related offense to compliance is illegal too. Even if you think its false, you're mandated to report it.  It is the law.

Not true.  College students are also legally protected from bullying in PA, and it goes far beyond cyber bullying.  Nice try though.

Yep.  I've been involved in mandated reporting , even reporting an allegation that had already been investigated to protect kids and cover my behind.

Gotta say, once the Collegian article was published I thought a bunch of people would come forward - girls he's been inappropriate with, teammates confirming the locker room allegations, etc. But it's been crickets - no evidence shown, no snapchat screengrabs, no witnesses coming forward.

Just Beau and his wife as only source for all of this.

No one defending him either though.  I agree the radio silence both ways has been surprising

Because everyone has been advised not to say anything at this time.

1. Pennsylvania Statutory Offense for Bullying

A new criminal offense called “bullying” was added to the Pennsylvania Crimes Code under 18 Pa. C.S. § 2709.2. It applies when someone commits an underlying defined crime with the intent to harass, annoy, alarm, or intimidate another person, or to place them in fear of bodily injury or property damage

The severity of the charge depends on the underlying crime:

If it's normally treated as a summary offense, the charge is a third-degree misdemeanor.

If the underlying crime is more serious, the bullying offense is graded one degree higher than the original crime (e.g., up to a first-degree felony with potential prison up to 40 years and fines up to $100,000)

Wow, you mean to tell me that the PSU fan who likely hasn't been inside a school for decades didn't know there have been bullying laws on the books in PA for over 15 years?

Allegedly: Repeated sexual assaults.  Retaliatory theft.  Taking and posting nudes in the locker room.

Lots of harassment, intimidation. and fear of bodily injury there.  In my jurisdiction, LE looks at a pattern (generally three offenses) and calls it bullying.  I hope this gets their due diligence.

It's symbolism.  The Lion is staring down Nike the Goddess of Victory
