Total guesses but I'll try:

Quentin Wright

J. Jaggers

Good guess on Wright, but he had "only" two wins over #1 seeds (Honeycutt, Kilgore) to go with three wins over #2 seeds. And surprisingly Jaggers had a single win over a #1 seed (Mendes)

I first thought Jordan Leen, then I thought the title thread was sort of a clue- So maybe a Heavyweight? McMIllan?

Mark Schultz?

Nickerson (Simmons, Donahoe) and Schultz (DeAna, Banach) each have two. Leen only has one (Gillespie). And surprisingly, Meredith has zero, though he does have a pair of wins over #2 seeds.

Mark perry?

Great choice.

We are half way there. Perry beat #1 Troy Letters in the 2005 semis before falling to Johnny Hendricks in the final. But he avenged that lose two years later by taking out #1 Hendricks in the 2007 final. His third victory over a #1 seed came the next year when he beat Eric Tannenbaum in the final.

 Vincenzo?

Joseph took out the same #1 (Martinez) two years in a row in the final. Sadly he was denied the chance for a third in 2020 when he was the #2 seed. Lets call him an honorary member of the group (after all Marinelli was the #1 seed. I'm not sayin'. I'm just sayin'.)

Shane Griffith!

Sugar Shane indeed.

Doublehalf for the Double Win.

After taking out #1 Alex Marinelli in the 2021 quarters, Griffith famously went on to take out the shortsighted decision of Stanford's administrators with an epic victory to save a program. He followed that up in 2022 with a victory over #1 Evan Wick in the 2022 semis and again in 2024 with a third place match victory over #1 Mekhi Lewis.

Nobody Hassles the Rig.

The problem with Carlton was he was the #1 seed two of his three years. And while we have all heard the cliché "he beat himself", Carlton clearly never did.

How many R’s in Starocci?

So the thread does involve Starocci, indirectly.  If not for the Starocci injury, Lewis would not have been the #1 seed in 2024.😉

Gallick was the #6 seed in 2009 when he got felled by pin. Kellan Russell was the #1 seed.
