This is a trick question.

I cannot allow myself to be baited in a manner such as how Minnow was baited this AM on the Twatter.

Is this about him talking about Iowa fans making gay jokes or something?

I do see he at least posted some memes critical of PSU…

Compared to other big budget sports, elite wrestlers and coaches are shielded from answering tough questions. Imagine if the Snyder situation was basketball, or Bassett was the number 1 football recruit. In these sports, the coach and those around the program would be pressured constantly to make a comment. Instead we live in a world where Snyder was shielded from the media at Final X and Cael never had to go on record about it. While the situation has improved in recent years with FLO and other outlets, sports journalists are still too scared of having access to top programs cut off. Fans and supporters are left to follow social media rumors and debate via chatrooms without fact checking.

What would it take to have a better wrestling media other than money?

4.5 hours since the article came out and all the major wrestling media members are so quiet that you could hear a mouse fart

I don’t expect them to comment on it more than the FRL guys did, but I would have thought we would have at least seen an x post from Flo acknowledging it.  Nope.

To be fair, the wrestling media has been very quiet today.  Maybe they are all out asking the tough questions in regard to this CStar news.  Willie (although he might be sleeping), Basch, Pyles, Flo main account have been too busy to even repost, mention or comment about the existence of the Daily Collegian article.

I had made comments in the last Cstar thread when Beau posted on bwi…. That if we had real wrestling journalists they would be going after this story then.

Yes, but

1) That wasn’t a tough question (I thought this was the joke)

2) Cael didn’t care

But the entire wrestling fan base crapped on the kid, more or less.  That was my point.

Yeah, he got baited by some 17 year old.  Just looks bad all around.

It’s ridiculous honestly. If it was any other major program they wouldn’t be this quiet, that’s for sure.

Does this count as a tough question?  And apparently Snyder’s wife isn’t divorcing him, good for him

Its definitely growth for Pyles....Sacha Baron cohen wouldn't have had the balls to bring up the hooker thing directly.

Personal struggles he's been dealing with

1.  I would bet my bottom dollar Pyles first got permission from Camp Snyder and USA Wrestling before lobbing that softball question.

2.  Snyder literally used nothing but the easiest, generic Christian cliches and wrestling cliches for the entire interview.  He said nothing.  In the end, I guess that is fine.  Maybe that is who he really is, and his life is really none of our business anyway.  To each their own...

I remember years ago, when Helen was dealing with her head injuries, someone from the media asked her something along the lines of if she was hanging it up, after she lost first round at Worlds. Social media went CRAZY, saying how disrespectful it was, you can't ask her that, etc. Going back to the original thread topic of "wrestling needs real journalists", they got crucified when they asked one of the toughest questions you could, and now, it seems the tide has turned that they aren't pressing hard enough on Snyder. I realize these are different situations, but if we want "real journalists", shouldn't we want them to ask the tough question, regardless of the situation?
