He is going to Oklahoma State based on the rumors I am hearing. No idea who replaces him but hopefully they do a national search and dont just promote with-in.

Is he taking Gilman’s role?

Army has a massive 2026 recruiting class.  A bunch of Top 100s, which is huge for a program like Army.

its an odd shift, being a head coach at an academy is way different than gunning for an NCAA team title, but you get to be a big shot.

Wonder how many of those recruits knew, or are we gonna have an exciting transfer portal Monday!?

I doubt it matters that much.

The decision to go to a service academy is a bigger one than deciding to wrestle.

Whoever the new coach is, he will have a big task holding onto those '26 recruits who will have lots of coaches (including maybe DT/Ward) calling after them now

Don't you think Army, Navy, Air Force recruits are a bit different than D1 in general?

They are, but kids who are recruited by those schools consider other programs and some even transfer out. It is a major commitment and a head coach change is something that could make kids reconsider.

Those are nice recruits for Army, but I don't think DT is calling them.  Even more complicated with limited roster sizes now.

Uhorchuk is #16 in class of 2026 and Creason is #21, they don't line up at weights of need, but they are good recruits for any program.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Jojo will come home and wrestle at Chattanooga. They'd have a pretty solid punch if he joined.

So DT won't be calling, as I said.

DT is limited to an average of 3 guys per weight.  This includes starters, backups, redshirts, etc.

good kids for most programs, those kids would not see the mat at OSU. That is not a knock, on them, not many kids do.

Absolutely, but the way recruiting is going, it is unlikely they would ever start a varsity dual except in dire emergency or radically unexpected development.
