Senior Pan-Ams coming up quick! Pretty interesting that 5/10 weight classes are held down by a Cowboy RTC guy. Also have RBY for Mexico. Any idea how this team gets selected? Should be a few good matches in the finals.

McKenna, Green, and Snyder are the only ones from the old guard (I know its only panams) but USA wrestling is in good hands with these yungins coming through 🙂

Where do you see good matches in the finals? There looks to be noly two Cubans entered and the only other challenger I can see is Austion Gomez who may be able to beat Jame Green. 10 Golds by the US seems likely.

Predictions for RBY?  I would say he  makes the finals.   Other than that I don't have a guess.

UWW has him listed at 57kg. I thought for sure RBY would be competing at 61 and maybe growing into a 65er, if not sucking back down much later in this quad before the Olympics.

UWW also has Lugo listed at 57 for the US. Is he Spencer's trainign partner?

Gomez VS Green & Spencer VS RBY are the matches i think could be good. It'll be interesting to see if the gap gets closer or wider for RBY. Gomez looked great in Iowa City for the Flo card

Interesting in that Pantaleo isn't qualified for WTT, is he?  Some guys that had failed to up to then have used Pan Ams to qualify.

I think Gomez would be a heavy favorite against Parker and RBY should be favored over Conin as well. I am assuming that  the Cuban at 97kg could be favored over Radenmacher

He was 2nd at 70kg WTT last year which qualifies him under rule 7b) as a 2024 Senior Men’s Freestyle National Team Member

USA Wrestling doesn't have him on their list as qualifiers. It seems the Non-Olympic weights only had 1 national team member in 2024.

Oh wow you're right. That's a headscratcher considering some people are double-dipped from OTT for the single spot. Not that head scratching decisions from USAW are uncommon...

Lockett is down 1-2 in second.
wow — behind quad pod but could not get Garzon down.  Desperation tries to pick him up and over but no go.  Garzon bends down and grabs Locket’s feet and basically drives Lockett down on head.  Way OOB.  Lockett seems a bit stunned.

(BTW - earlier Locket got out of a single leg by jumping away and his shoe came off …. No penalty for this in freestyle?  Seems like a ‘tactic’ that could be used)

Woah — Lockett hand is raised.  DQ on Garzon??    Cuba challenge obviously …

Jason Bryant also super confused.
Showing that spike on head was way OOB. Off the mat.  Call stands.

My vantage point is less than ideal, but I'm making it work. I was watching for Lockett's action to score there and couldn't see where the OOB was, which led to me calling the action vs. knowing when the spike occurred. When I could finally see a replay, along with everyone else, I then saw what the situation was. I didn't call it correctly as it happened, since I was still going with the action was in the zone.

I felt like I talked the viewer through the process pretty well, but the fact it was OOB and I was unaware of that as it happened, definitely complicated things.

I thought you called it well. We were confused along with you. On replay it was quite clear, but in the moment I didn't notice Garzon drove him down
