Iowa was shut out in the quad (if you don't count Gilman) ... until they had the highest placer in the Olympics.  LOL

Good try though. LOL

Spencer Lee could have wrestled at Buffalo University and still been in the olympic finals. He's that dude.

If they have Greco aspirations, they should go to Illinois if they want to do both or freestyle, they should probably go to Iowa if its only between those two. The main argument is Iowa burns people out and breaks their bodies down. There is definitely a lot of examples to point to that. Jordyn is coming off an ACL tear so you could look at it like Spencer has had 3 tears don't go there... or who better to train with and learn from than a guy who has gone through it multiple times and nearly gotten back to the pinnacle of the sport. Also, bringing those two in with Mocco and Bassett + likely 4 years of Deluca makes them a title contender and that would be a great thing for them to be a part of. Not that Illinois could not contend for a podium spot with them, but they certainly will not have the bullets in the chamber or the funds to buy ammunition that Iowa has.

They were.  At every weight.  1 for 72 in spots earned.  1 for 80, if you include non-Oly worlds.

With Moore & Cambell recently committing to Illinois I'm less optimistic the Ranney's will go there.

Not sure how those two coming to Illinois affect the Raneys.  In fact, Moore should be a plus.  No overlap and they have the KY connection.

I agreed... but their one rep prob won more matches than all the Illini reps combined.

Aye, that is true.

Exactly.  He has little to no insider info on wrestlers outside the PA/NJ sphere.  He's just hedging his bet

And there's not much talent in that little area anyway, so he's mostly irrelevant!

Iowa just need to put their own recruits into the Finals and we'll stop hearing about the stupid injury thing.

I've said this before, but it really just seems like Spencer Lee's injury issues were talked about so much more, that's what stuck out. I guess that and then when they had the 3 7th year guys who you thought could win at '41, '65, '74.

I also think they're just so directly compared to PSU and Cael seems to REALLY be able to get his guys to believe the Nationals are...just another match, so they go out and Wrestle better whereas others go out and Wrestle worse.

The Raneys are like twin Spencer Lees.  Iowa or bust.

What's the..."logic" behind this? Why is it Iowa "or bust?" And what does Bust mean in this case? They just don't Wrestle in College?

I have been thinking for months that the Twins are the most crucial pickups of their class. They are impact wrestlers for several teams.   I always thought they were locks for Illinois but they would be monsters for OK State and Iowa.  They could be a game changer for either team
