Wish him the best but have to say no.  It's very hard to maintain especially when you're so out front with it.  His behavior was weird on several occasions, especially at match end with Cardenas.  How does that go over with teammates that have no interest or do but not to that degree.  Will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

It’s too over the top to be real imo.   Felt cartoonish.  He is kissing azzes in the form of praising psu.  I don’t believe that for a sec.  He is selling that he is “sellable” and wants a jersey shore nil bag….. and he will get one in all likelihood from someone.

I remember in a management class in business school.  You can change who you are in the short term.  In the long term you will always go back to the real you.

It would be kind of funny if he ever took that persona to the WWE. Wasn't there a popular WWF televangelist character way back in the day?

He would be a much better wwe star vs like a gable.  He could be a heel and gable couldn’t.  Imo at least.

This is what typically happens when someone hits rock bottom and has no place else to go. Somewhere along his journey he told someone “connected”about his foolish behavior and how his decisions in life came back to bite him, and hard too. He obviously embraced it, began to study up on it, it made some sense  - especially listening to other wrestlers proclaim a similar mindset, and so now he’s excited about this new mindset and wants to share it with others. This is what typically happens initially. I know I’m beating around the bush to appease the haters in this forum, however a thread was created and I feel I’m well versed to respond based on my own personal experience. I’m very confident this very well may be what’s happening with AJ. Hopefully he tones it down - preferably all together and allows his actions to speak for itself. I wish him well, I really do.

I remember the Godfather dropping his pimp persona and becoming the Bible clutching Goodfather

The important thing to remember is that both persona were just acts.

I think AJ's always been religious.  The only thing that's changed recently is he no longer believes that he's God.

Meant to be funny...but hopefully spot on. Anyone I respect that seems to be a genuine follower of Jesus reflects exactly that picture--whether they were religious before or not.

Why not, the Bible Selling charlatan and serial liar Donald Trump is playing that game.

Go away with this, right now.

FFS, there are other websites for this.

There is nothing that screams "charlatan" as loudly as a self-proclaimed lover of baby Jesus. Don't take it from me.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

I wasn't a D1 AA or anything but I remember when my opponent wanted to have some inauthentic "moment" after the match I took it almost like a personal insult.

It's never about how these people live, it's only about what they say. Sexual assault? No problem just say you're a Christian and everybody will pretend it never happened.

I would image when AJ gets accepted to a competitive wrestling program he gonna flip a switch, similar to the reporter that experienced a bug in his mouth.

More like he's not paying any attention lol.

On the topic - being religious does not mean you aren't a POS. In fact, many of the biggest POS people do so by exploiting religion. So yes, he can easily keep it up regardless of his behavior.
