The JG in the screen shot could be basic configuration.  (I’ve not used signal) but a lot of these collab tools will default to initials when showing a name.   Our zoom configuration does that for example.

It's not really showing a name, but the photo.  The bubble with JG is the default in Signal if someone has not added a photo.  If the person only has filled in the first name field it will be a single letter their first initial.  If they have entered both a first and last name in Signal then it will be two letters, the first and last initial.  I think Michael Waltz likely entered "Michael Waltz" in the first name field which is why he only has an "M" in the bubble.  Jeffrey Goldberg likely had his name in the signal app as Jeffrey Goldberg which is why he had "JG", but that doesn't mean Waltz didn't have him saved in his phone as something else.

Super similar to zoom for example.  And teams.    Pointing out that the weird speculation that jg is there and that’s how he was added (looking for someone’s initials) is prolly random speculation.

I think that's correct. It doesn't really say anything about how Goldberg's contact info was saved in Waltz's phone.

Yes, this.  Thank you for the Signal explanation, was not aware of that.  But Waltz mixing up the initials somehow from his phone still seems to be the most likely explanation

I'm still waiting to hear a winding explanation how this is acceptable or not a big deal but what people who happen to be Democrats did was worthy of going to prison.

I agree...regardless of the letter after your name people should be held accountable for their actions...I'll wait for you to hold this same standard to a D...and there have been plenty of times a D has done similar things with their electronic devices and you and your ilk were silent or defended the person.

I don't have a $1 to read the Times but I did read the CBS article.  It did not reference any sources.  However it should be easy to prove if true and if so then he should be fired for endangering the pilots.

They do not name the sources but say it is "according to four people with knowledge of the chat.

Also from the article:

"Unlike the chat in which The Atlantic was mistakenly included, the newly revealed one was created by Mr. Hegseth. It included his wife and about a dozen other people from his personal and professional inner circle in January, before his confirmation as defense secretary, and was named “Defense | Team Huddle,” the people familiar with the chat said. He used his private phone, rather than his government one, to access the Signal chat.

The continued inclusion following Mr. Hegseth’s confirmation of his wife, brother and personal lawyer, none of whom had any apparent reason to be briefed on operational details of a military operation as it was getting underway, is sure to raise further questions about his adherence to security protocols."

Other than Hillary’s e-mails, can you share some of these examples?

Wait.  You didn’t say 4 people who had knowledge of the chat.  Hope they weren't “51 intelligence agents”…. That one ended well lol.

Politically motivated press should be scrutinized.

I thought the reference was to politicians  not using proper safety protocols with sensitive information on their devices.  Hunter Biden isn’t a politician.

Do you think a person who has a history of doing exactly what he is accused of doing, and just fired three people he accused of leaking information about what he has done, is more likely, or less likely to have done it more than once?

Yes.  You missed they said he he was to far gone from his dementia or Alzheimer’s or whatever he had …. At the same time the press.   His circle.   And all the people around them knew but lied and looked the other way.   You sure did.    Now they’re writing books on how bad he really was.   Politics sure are dirty boss.   On both sides of the aisle.

I don’t feel like you’re serious or rational here.   So no.
