Nitzel had some bright points, can he take the next step in 2025/26? 4. Will Kade Moore take the next step in development? Can he survive the onslaught of some of the incoming talent? He looked like he was really coming around in the Big 12 Tourn, but then did nothing at the NCAA Tourn. I have a thought on this. I don't think most Mizzou followers realize how much of an influence Mike Eirman had on a bunch of the Tiger wrestlers. Jaden Cox and Ben Askren are two. Mike's son, and Mauller, as well as Jacques, were all multi Champs for Father Tolten, right there in Columbia and were starting from early on. I don't know what happened with Mike's tie to Mizzou, but his club is still developing talent in Mid Missouri, as well as Sammy Henson's Bull Trained club. The Elams were products of a strong Staley HS in KC, of which Gary Mayabb had built into a power before heading to USA Wrestling. There was a period of real good high school talent in Missouri that did well at summer USA nats, and many of these kids wrestled at D1 programs. I'm not sure if Missouri HS wrestling has taken step back. Several recent Mo Champs have gone to Mizzou to get buried on the roster. Saunders, Henson, Orrine, Fuggit, all headed out of state. Little Rock had several Missouri kids when they initiated their program. I also think Alex Clemson was a positive and was a loss when he left Mizzou for Maryland. Just the rambling of an old man that has deep roots in the wrestling in the state of Missouri. 1 1 1 1
