The coaching staff needs to be revamped.  They hold a standard for their wrestlers but not themselves.  Instead of developing, they get frustrated at their guys and go buy a replacement.  They need to hold that standard to themselves.

More like they like to buy nice things and run em straight into the ground. It's like some idiot buying a new car every year and beating the hell out of it, then getting upset at the car when you have a beater. Rinse and repeat.

Why aren't they buying some mercenary coaches?  Do they really need a Tom and a Terry?  Seems a little redundant.

Woods, Eireman, Caliendo, Lugo, and Desanto all placed higher at Iowa than their previous school. Franck is the lone high profile transfer to not place higher and he still AAd.

Next year's roster:

125: Joey Cruz / Dru Ayala / Transfer Portal

133: Drake Ayala / Leo DeLuca (RS)

141: (I'd consider letting Ayala adding more muscle to his frame and starting DeLuca from day one at 133) / Transfer Portal

149: Victor Voinovich / Transfer Portal

157: Miguel Estrada

165: Mikey Caliendo

174: Patrick Kennedy

184: Angelo Ferrari

197: AJ Ferrari

285: Ben Kueter

I would guess Arnold will transfer out so that he doesn't have to ride the pine.

Deluca is little. He is a career 125 according to himself.

I am still cynical about AJ Ferrari's prospects for gaining entry to Iowa. Maybe pencil in the rumored Rocky Elam instead.

So have they offered Spencer the AD job?

Woods (4th) and Eireman (DNP) placed lower their last year.

I will give you everyone except Eireman. He went on rung up the ladder in placement each year. He would’ve finished 1/2 the year he lost to Lee either place, Mizzou or Iowa. The weight had cleared out so much that outside of Lee nobody was touching him. So to me, he’s a wash. He also had his worst finish at NCAAS at Iowa.

Iowa's problem IS the coaching.

They are not yet at the level of frustration of John Smith.

He sure looked like a crabby old guy yelling "get the hell off my lawn" when he would watch a number of his wrestlers on the mat.

T&T still whoop it up and encourage them. Problem is, it is not working. They have the Gable legacy but have not moved past it because they don't have the Gable talent for coaching individuals.

Not necessarily. Sebastian Rivera was right there with them.

'Yelling at people to National Championships' isn't a thing.

T&T are way, way past their 'sell by' date.

Eireman tore his ACL in a dual against Chad Red that year. Woods still placed higher for the second year in a row over his years at Stanford.

The Iowa coaches weren’t even in the top 5 most obnoxious staffs  at B1Gs.
