He is an absolute nut, but I think he wins the entire thing. He is just so good on the mat and rolls wrists and gets off to the side enough that I don't think he will get dinged for stalling. As he said in the interview I think it probably takes someone thats willing to go into the third down on riding time and can sting him late. Cardenas and Buch feel like the guys that could do that but I just don't know his cardio was really impressive in that match which was something I was concerned about. 3 weigh ins will be interesting though.

I am probably missing something, as usual, but I didn't think this interview was bad at all (by his standards).

He didn't come across as psychotic and didn't say anything particularly offensive.  His manner seemed relatively calm and somewhat professional.  He seemed to acknowledge he had some personal work to do.

His dig about practice room competition wasn't exactly teammate of the year stuff, but it was delivered low key and quickly and obviously it's true and the elephant in the room if not addressed.

I do agree that the 3 point stance line was quite ironic and comical.

Again, I began this with the caveat "by his standards," and if I were a coach I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole, but given who we're dealing with, I didn't think this interview was particularly negatively notable.

I use the same strategy to be successful in life - set the bar absurdly low, so everything else that you do looks amazing by comparison

About an hour ago, I saw a clip of Bakersfield's 125 spiking the kid from Cal Poly on a mat return, then pinning him to qualify for Nationals along with AJ and their heavyweight. While the rest of his team was mat side in celebration for this kid, Ferrari stayed seated in the background. I found that odd and disheartening, especially in light of his recent statement (video in this thread) about his teammates.

I never liked this guy much, but after watching his interview, I was impressed.  He came across as a superb athlete, physically AND mentally.  I think a lot of us were a bit prickly when we were competing, feeling and acting better than everyone else, but that's a part of the mentality that makes you good.
He's still young and we all make stupid mistakes when we are young.  I think he's toned it down, focused his mind, and deepened his faith in whatever makes him strong...it doesn't matter if it's religion, or an amulet you wear, or wafting sage smoke over your body with an eagle feather, or a gumby doll.  If it makes you feel good you will be stronger.  I'm not going to fault him if his zen is different from mine.  The power of the mind, most of you will agree, is imperative in wrestling.
   And he is entertaining.
Wish I had his abs.
