I do know certificates are earned as part of taking classes, but are not degrees. Like a plumber or roofer can take certain or a group of classes needed to get certificates that allows them work and show they are board certified. Not trying to downplay it, but for an athlete it’s just a means of staying eligible. Checking the box. Yes they are attending class, maintaining GPA etc.
