Any chance that Rocky Elam ends up at RU now that his brother is part of the SKWC?

I can see him being done wrestling competitively before him leaving Mizzou for another school.

I would just like some clarification from some of you.  When you use the term "poached" what exactly qualifies?  If a wrestler for one team contacts the coaching staff or wrestler from another team and expresses interest does that count?

I only ask because so many of you know all of the exact details of these situations, including his much nil money has been promised and how these events have unfolded, that you seemingly must be the negotiators between the parties involved!

If you weren't then maybe you should keep your conjecture, assertions and outrage in check and let the events completely unfold before you vilify any program or coaching staff.

None of these wrestlers are transferring to PSU for free. Even if the wrestler initially reaches out, Cael & co. are still offering sizeable amounts of money to bring in that wrestler. You PSU fans want to act like everyone's leaving their program purely for the success of PSU's program and failing to acknowledge that every single one of these transfers is getting paid to go there..

Iowa's predicted lineup

125: Jore Volk

133: Drake Ayala

141: Nasir Bailey

149: Jordan Williams

157: Miguel Estrada

165: Mikey Caliendo

174: Kennedy or Arnold

184: Angelo Ferrari

197: AJ Ferrari or Rocky Elam

285: Ben Kueter

Most people on the forums think Deluca goes year 1.

Does anyone actually have an actual figure, from any verifiable source, of the amount any wrestler has earned in nil money from any school?  A lot of you throw out these statements that all of these guys are raking in huge sums of money to transfer, especially if they go to an Iowa, Ok St., Michigan or PSU but I'd love to see someone actual figures.

You upset about getting Welsh, or something?

Until I see actual confirmation of it, which I haven't, I'm not going to worry about it. I don't think it makes sense for him or PSU given what can be seen from the outside perspective but there are certainly more details involved than those posted of the situation have privilege to.

I just legitimately want to know what the "huge" nil numbers that are being thrown around by some if you actually are or are they just purely conjecture?

You seem upset, bud.

This is the premier BBS on the interwebs.

That means we have all sorts of deplorables and elite-folks, as well as everything in-between.

As you said, until it is official, there really isn't anything to be firm about.  That said, we are all going to be excited because we are simple, excitable folk who happen to be superfans as well.

Strap on your seatbelt, don't take anything personal (ever), and enjoy the ride.  Welcome to the funzone.

Weird I didn't see this "truth in online discussion" warrior out here defending Iowa's honor last year.

He's new in general isn't he?

Willie confirmed the $500k amounts for Teemer and Buchanan.

Not long after that, Carter Starocci said he was the highest paid college wrestler.  “By a lot.”

I think what Willie said was he heard the same thing re: the numbers.  Of course, this is indirect sourcing or possibly duplicative if he heard from the same source as the Minnow.

Flynn isn’t in his league and needs to move up anyways. Wells is going up and possibly redshirting, I wouldn’t be mad if Wells went to 149 and looked like Austin Gomez.

MN ideal lineup

125-Volk

133-Flynn

141-Wells

149-Vombaur

157-Askey

165-Millard

174-Riddle(lost to whiting twice close, wrestled guys in the top 20 close, IMO has better improvement and passes Whitings results)

184-McEnelly

197-Nelson

Hwt-Hopke

Honestly a better dual team than this year.

Flynn and Volk had a damn tight match at NCAAs in 2024 that was 2-1 until three seconds to go when Flynn made a desparate shot.  Flynn wrestled this year and Volk was on the sidelines injured.  They are in the same tier.

I see it as 5-2 for the 2024-25 squad with three toss-ups.

125 - T/U

133 - T/U

141 - '25

149 - '26

157 - T/U

165 - '25

174 - '25

184 - '26

197 - '25

285 - '25

Reason 157 is a toss-up and 184 is not is due to current stages of career.  Later career tends to develop less.  I might consider 165 and 174 Toss-Ups as well, but you said yourself that Whiting won the actual matches, and Sparks was damn good this year.

Askey ain’t coming back, Vombaur would be much worse at 149 and isn’t going up, Flynn isn’t going up, and Riddle doesn’t beat out whiting.

Don't have to convince me of any of those, except Askey.  He has Junior eligibility this last season.

Askey looks huge at 157 I think he and Millard would be flipped
