I mean... you could be and he could.  Both of your questions could be true.

😛

I think the chance of Bruce being functionally illiterate is far higher since I actually watched all of OU's televised duals last year. Completely unimpressed while watching them, mind you. But I don't hang on the balls of all the scrubs who might make starter next year so, apparently, I'm completely ignorant of their roster.

You could always, ya know, just say this I was wrong.. you don't have to call me functionally illiterate.. that's pretty mean, man.

When you say "I would be stunned if OU had a single guy make the r12 next year," but in the next breath admit that you can't name five of the guys who are likely to start for them, it really cuts into the credibility of your previous statement.

The brighter spots in their line-up next year:

125: Beric Jordan (#21 big boarder in 2024)

133: Tyler Wells (R12, R16)

141: Alex Braun (#20 big boarder in 2024)

149: Jack Gioffre (R16)

157: Peyton Keller (AA - 5th in 2024)

184: Deanthony Parker (R12)

I'll just leave that there. I think you may be stunned next March.

It would take you five minutes to click on Wrestlestat and look at their current lineup which includes all the new transfers.  You can even click on each wrestlers history by season.   But as a knowledge college wrestling fan you already knew that right???  🤦‍♂️

When you already have an AA, two R12 and an R16 in the lineup, I would say the odds of having an R12 guy next year are pretty good. I would be more "stunned" if they didn't have an R12 guy than if they did.

I'd agree. I was hoping that someone would admit either stand by their take or eat some crow. Spout off ridiculous statements, and either own them or admit you were being a silly boy. But I think "the beast" just says things off of feelings rather than any actual wrestling intel. I think Kish has done a good job considering he hasn't even put one of his own recruiting classes on the mat yet, but they've brought in some quality recruits and some guys that are under the radar.

Again, I choose to hope for positivity before burying a coaching regime. Oklahoma is not Oklahoma State, and they haven't been all that relevant since Spates. If they could return to a consistent top 10 program, that would be huge in todays world of college wrestling.

Agree... Kish needs a little more time before decisions are made about his job. The goals for some teams are to stay in that top 10-15 realm with consistent AA's... which is not the same as other teams. One team's success is not the same as others. Being an OSUw fan, I was a little disappointed in how Cleveland Belton performed this year. I would have thought that he would have been pushing AA down a weight based on his previous performances, but he never hit his stride. Perhaps dropping a weight was not the best idea.
