If he does wrestle, I hope the committee gives him the most difficult path possible at NCAA's (Barr, Buchanan, etc.). He has dodged some opportunities to wrestle better competition this year, let's see him take on the best. I also agree with previous posts, hard to see AJ losing in the semis and wrestling Saturday morning in the consos. He will probably be long gone from Philly by that point and 197 podium may have an empty spot on it that night.

You don't get better facing cupcakes & dodging the tough matches. You don't get better with no challenge in the room for training.

He might do well but from what we have seen it is not apparent he is a real threat to win it all this year.

Next year his younger brother may have grown into 197. Maybe they can meet on the mat because I doubt Iowa will bring him in.

Amen. No one gets better at wrestling by not wrestling.

I would actually question that. He could easily make the argument that he used this year to show that he can keep his nose clean and would be a more active participant on a more competitive roster next year. I'm not saying that I think he foregoes the post season, but I am saying I won't be all that surprised if he does. And there could very well be conversations going on behind the scenes as we speak.

No program is gonna pay a guy more who says "i didn't do anything last year because I was keeping my nose clean and the team sucked so I didn't care about winning". Imho no way sittng out makes him money.

I think the staff (and AJ) know where he stands and is just trying to save his seed so he gets the best draw possible and hopefully sneaks onto the podium.

How do they know that, he hasn’t wrestled anyone to be able to make that determination.  Even when he won the title he didn’t light up the scoreboard

I am not sure he will be allowed back in the building if he loses in the semis.

Wouldn't be the first time he was shown the doors at a tournament. Remember Florida last year 🤣

well excuse my error, still having trouble making the idea make any sense.

He is just saying Ferrari's extreme volatility makes outlier results more likely. I am not sure the two scenarios he chose are the most likely outcomes, but I do think they are more likely for Ferrari than for anyone else.

I think when you know, you know.

I look forward to Buchanan v Ferrari.  AJ is 2-0 vs Stephen but that is ancient history.

I want to see how Wyo > OU > Iowa compares to Ok State > court room > Bakersfield.

Did I miss something about him not competing at conference, or is it just speculation because he was "injured" against Little Rock?

It seems to be just speculation based on him missing his best competition dates this year (CKLV and Little Rock).

Two Ferrari flexing each other post match - priceless.

yeah but he's gonna cost himself a lot of money of by not showing up....

Not wrestling could hurt NIL, but he could  also hurt his future NIL by not AA or having a bad showing. He hasn't wrestled much, he has one top 20 match on his resume and if he wrestles this Friday it will be the first time in about a month. All signs point toward an unprepared and unsuccessful post-season. He has stayed out of trouble, stayed eligible, wrestled some matches. It's what his next university wants to see from him to be able to gain entrance.

No program is going to pay a guy more who doesn't AA either. As a side related side note,  you dont' think Bob would pay AJ next year if he can get into Iowa?
