I have been trying to think about who may be able to get within 50 points of psu next year, and despite the PSU team likely being slightly weaker next year I think every other team is going to be even worse off.

Iowa loses: Parco,Teemer,Buchannan

Oklahoma state loses: Hamiti,Wyatt,Fish,Whitcraft,Amine,Plott

Cornell, Virginia tech and Oklahoma state have very good recruiting classes, but I would think a lot of those guys redshirt or at the very least will take their lumps the first year. Stanford will be very good through the middle but weak on both ends of their lineup. Nebraska can return everyone aside from Ridge but that's probably 20 of their 60 or so points. Minnesota is in a similar position where they only lose Gable but thats probably 25+ points.

Transfer portal may come into play here, not sure PSU can hold on to all of there depth, and that may enrich other teams willing to pay.

PSU only has to replace 3 kids, and yes, they are all finalists/champions, but their replacements probably already know who they are. So, not too worried about the portal hurting PSU. And who knows, they might actually pick up somebody.

Even though Iowa loses three and Penn State loses three which may also be 3 finalists/champs, Penn State will have far more returning points - four or five finalists could return - and the new guys coming in might be Marcus Blaze, Zack Ryder and Cole Mirasola. And Mirasola is buying a Cow from Tyler Kazak so he'll probably be a lot bigger.

The 2027 team might be another record breaker, won’t Haines be the only senior in 2026? Hard to forecast all the offseason activity in college sports these days and injuries are always an unknown variable, but I think it’s gonna be a while until they score anything less than 150 at the tournament.

Maybe, maybe Nagao and/or Sealey. Maybe not. None of the others. They are all going to start

Haines replacement is P.J. Duke who is already beating senior level and former all american wrestlers.

I think Rocco will go 174 he has been wrestling 79kg and seemed kinda pissed about not wrestling it this year.

Yeah I only said 184 bc that was the excuse for him redshirting but I’m sure it wasn’t the full truth

everybody has bouzakis at 41. Jesse is already a small 41, i wouldnt be surrpised if he stays there next year too. that'd put nic behind davino or jesse. my prediction is he hits the transfer portal and joins his brother at Pitt.

i think tosu has an open spot at 49 next year.

My best guess for Penn State's lineup in 2027:

125: Nate Desmond or Lilledahl

133: Luke Lilledahl or Davis or Blaze

141: Marcus Blaze or Davis or Nagao

149: SVN

157: Kasak or PJ Duke

165: MM

174: Ryder or Henckel or Cunningham

184: Ryder or Barr

197: Barr or Mirasola

285: Mirasola or TBD

Good chance Duke comes in bigger than 157. He wrestled at 154lbs at UWW in September and is still growing. His high school year has been at 170 and even 175 for a couple of events.

Lots of elite guys wrestle up multiple weights. I'd bet that he'll be at 70kg for U20 and Senior WTTs.

A lot will be revealed this weekend when Iowa and Oklahoma State clash in an epic dual.  As Senior level fanatics have to  call out @ionel and @VakAttack in the lack of promotion, smack talk, & title threads this board is waiting for.  This dual is going to be a classic.  Where's my man @Mr. PeanutButter with his picks all going Iowa's way.  Come on fellas.  This needs to be battled out on the forum this week

Haha thanks for the shoutout! I'm actually predicting an OKST win at this time but need to let my thoughts marinate. Currently predicting a 5-5 split with Hendrickson's bonus being the deciding factor.

I can't talk smack, my team is too busy acting as a meat shield for Oklahoma State in the transfer debate, what with those morally superior folks in Stillwater.
