The one editorial comment I'll make is that this dual is probably staged for drama and excitement as well as it could be. Any bonus or upsets rocks the narrative severely...though not as much if you think Ayala is gonna beat Van Dee, but he seems to struggle against tricky wrestlers or wrestlers with a lot of weird positions.

Solid picks Hammer...Only difference is I'd switch the results at 133 and it's quite possible the results you have at 149 and 174 get flipped.  Parco matches up well against Ridge and Pinto offers style problems for Kennedy.  Might see Arnold in another OT match

I gave my take on Ayala/Van Dee...Pinto just doesn't seem to have the horsepower he had at 184. His style is weird because he uses a lot of power but I don't think of him as having a really physical style on the whole...I  think he's a blunt instrument and Kennedy wears him down for the win...taking the mat wrestling advantage away from Parco is a big deal so I'm pretty secure with lovett.

This is pretty close to how I see things. Only difference is I think Nebraska gets one of 149 or 184 so call it 21-13.

Certainly possible.  I do think on the whole that Lovett is better than Parco, but Parco may have a stylistic issue for Lovett...or maybe he just pulled an upset twice.

I think Pinto could have a shot to pull the upset, but that wouldn't change the result.  As mentioned Parco is 2-0 vs. Ridge but if Ridge wrestles his match, I think he comes out on top.  If he wrestles like he did in the dual last year, Parco can steal it.

Hard to argue with Parco's H2H results versus Ridge for sure.

The first win was controversial. Can't rewatch because it isn't available, but I recall a late stall call being the difference (Ridge didn't have Starocci's mindset). The 2nd win came during sad boy hours and everyone knows those don't count.

I'm also picking Parco

I'm trying to remember the match because I know I watched it on FS1 maybe? Looks like both guys picked up stall calls in the 2nd and Parco got the TD. In the 3rd, Ridge gets a second SW putting Parco up 4-2, Ridge forced a 2nd stall call on Parco making it 4-3. This is the recap from Corn Nation which covers Nebraska:

https://www.cornnation.com/2024/2/25/24083233/wrestling-3-nebraska-ends-dual-season-with-26-9-win-over-19-arizona-state

After a scoreless first period, Parco wisely chose neutral in the second period. Lovett was warned for stalling for inactivity on the feet before Parco got in on a shot and was able to finish for the takedown and the 3-0 lead. Parco was called for stalling then for dropping down to Lovett’s legs for five seconds before Lovett rolled out for an escape on the restart.

In the third, Lovett chose down. After a hard ride from Parco, Lovett was able to nearly get a reversal on the edge but settled for an escape, cutting Parco’s lead to 3-2, but more importantly stopping Parco’s riding time at 59 seconds.

Lovett was digging underhooks and looking to score a point on a stall call to tie things, driving Parco to the edge and eventually off the mat. In a wild turn of events, it was Lovett who was called for stalling for pushing Parco out of bounds rather than on Parco for letting himself get pushed out, giving Parco the point to go up 4-2. Lovett did get the stall call on Parco to cut the deficit to 4-3 shortly after, but he still needed a takedown. He wasn’t able to get one, dropping his first match of the season via 4-3 decision.

I see Nebraska as strong favorites at 125, 141 and 157. Iowa as strong favorites at 133, 165, 197 and 285. 149, 174 and 184 could really go either way but I favor Iowa in all of them. Without the head to head match ups I would favor Ridge over Parco but at this point he's going to have to beat Parco before I would predict it.
