How in the world did the government spending get so far off the tracks? In less than a month Elon will and his 20 year olds will pry 1 trillion dollars out of the politicians cold dead hands. will

all three i listed did everything for themselves... they conned you into thinking it was for the greater good

lol, they didn't con me into anything. The fact you think Elon is trying to make your wallet fatter is hilarious. "but he is saving me money". In order for you to actually "save money," presumably on your taxes, Elon and his crew are going to have to drastically cut Medicare, Defense, and Social Security budgets. Doubt that's saving you anything.

100% support cutting social security in its current form, right now.

Grandfather in the boomers.  Draw a line in the sand.  Cut it off.

Deal with it.

It isn't enough to survive on.

Life isn't fair; least not social security.

I'll pay in and get nothing later if that means one less problem for my kids.

Or change it to be an investment.

Ponzi schemes are criminal.

How much makes it to Africa, India and Bangladesh.   If anything like her parents foundation, very little.   Hopefully not.

Yeah even if he is able to cut a trillion dollars or whatever, would that actually be the reason for any tax cuts for regular people?  I guess his argument (which has a point) is that by reducing the deficit he is strengthening the value of the dollar.

You guys act like it shouldn’t be done.   Waste should be cut.   Period.  Obama had a plan for it.  So did Clinton.  No one cried when they tried it.

What is the alternative.  Keep raising taxes incrementally until they hit 100?  I mean it will take a while but that’s where we’re going.  Can the national debt get so high that we implode like some great civilizations of the past?  Similar to the slow decline of the Roman Empire?

I literally said Elon’s argument had a point.

Did you see the other thread talking about Republicans adding to the debt?

So many threads boss.    So little time.   You are making an argument he shouldn’t try to cut a trillion.

No I’m not.  But you’re making an argument Dems are the only ones adding to the debt

I am not.  For the most part politicians are trash.  Especially power hungry career ones which is why we need term limits.   For the first time in a loopooooong time.   They are slashing Shyte like crazy.  It’s a good thing.  There is so much bloat and corruption in our gov it’s Laughable.   Cut cut cut.   Cut some more.

don’t worry.  Trump isn’t a politicians politician.   We will go back to status quo repubs and democrats in 4 years don't you worry.   Which is the real problem no one seems to care about.

They can just learn to code.

Or they can just learn to hire a bunch of programmers and rocket scientists with their part of the family fortune...

And then pretend they are the ones who are actually doing the engineering and coding, like Musk does.

Oh, I'm loving life! 1600+ more days of America becoming greater and greater.  The first 24 have been amazing!

Keep pretending you are cool as a cucumber.  Reality:

Don't really think "loving life" fits with what's happening right now. But, by all means, you be you. If you think so, cool.

There are reasons to be optimistic, to be sure. And, then again, the market has been bouncing around a bit and is more volatile than it's been in prior years due to the efforts of the new administration.

We just have to wait and see how it unfolds. It's never been easy or predictable. Just a bit less now.

(I did like the Raiders of the Lost Ark movie. But to post that part? Weird choice by you. You're a weird dude.)

Trump goes to the Superbowl at a cost of (roughly estimated) $4 million - He arrives late, leaves early, and isn't even remotely a fan of football in any way, shape, or form. And, no President has ever done it before.

You say that We should budget the government like we do our own lives? I agree with that.

Then the administration should stop taking recreational trips on borrowed money when we are in debt to the hilt.

At least, that is, if the administration is as serious about is as they pretend to be.

Nothing cracks me up more than Boomer MAGA Twitter. Claims are easily disputed based on looking at the facts, but they don't care and will likely still be preaching this years from now. It literally explains all of this on the same page Elon took a screenshot from, yet he cut out the actual details cuz they don't fit his lies.

Oh and this contract was given to this agency, for social engineering DEFENSE, in 2018. That's smack dab in the middle of Trump's term.

Trump's admin awarded this contract to them. Sept. 2018. Maybe ask Trumpy instead of trying to dunk on the libs.
