So are you saying you think he may forego his senior year and start wrestling in college for the 2025-26 season?

Currently, and this could change on a moment's notice, athletes that participate at the JuCo level do not begin their D1 eligibility clock.

https://www.ncsasports.org/blog/does-juco-count-against-ncaa-eligibility

Bryce Harper famously dropped out of high school at 16. The reason then was that a player could not be drafted prior to finishing high school. But there was a supplemental draft called the Rule 4 draft and one way to become eligible is by playing college sports. So how does a high school kid play college sports? They drop out of high school, get a GED, and go to a JuCo.

So my question is based off that experience but adapted to today's college athletics landscape. Do athletes that hve the ability to command NIL at a young age, essentially the Bo Bassetts and Cooper Flaggs of the world, drop out of HS to go to JuCos where they can begin making money even earlier while benefitting from greyshirt training and not harming their eligibility clock while also being able to compete without penalty.

i am an idiot on the internet

No panic if Iowa whiffs on BB, but you know they are going on a spending spree in the xfr portal with that pool of money.

I mean you could argue they were already panicking, given the rumors that they were going after Figueroa midseason and apparently even tried to get Lilledahl I believe over the summer.

By "they" do you mean Iowa's fanbase (HR doesn't count because they're always angry and panicking)? I was referring more to the program. I don't think the coaches, administration, or roster are losing much sleep over it.

There were no rumors about Iowa going after Figs midseason.  There were some rumors that Figs was in the works to come next season.  In the offseason, everybody is making offers.  I know of one NCAA high AA that got an offer from mighty PSU this very offseason.  It is the current state of things.

But didn’t the rumors of Figs being in the works start after this season had already started?  Even if he wasn’t going to transfer until next year, allegedly making offers to guys during the current season could probably be considered panicking

H3 seems to be AWOL ... hope he didn't get cornered/trapped over in the NWT forum.  Sorry fly ... at least you saved some CB.  We should let @Idaho know there's no reason to continue paying retainer.

He mentioned faith a bunch. Maybe Jesus is Terry trained? OK, OK with that sacrilegious pinata out of the way maybe it's as simple as what he said: Iowa has been his favorite program since he was a kid

It could be.  I'm not an insider, but I'd been hearing for months from a bunch of people it was Okie State or Ohio State. Then recently it was OK State and Rutgers...then suddenly this weekend, Iowa was being talked about, and then a heavy favorite.

Very verbose.  Vastly overestimates his prominence in other posters lives.   Absolutely has to have the last word.
