Liz - Screeching like a banshee -  I have to have you promise me you won't take money from pharmaceutical companies as a result of being HHS secretary......  like I have as a US Senator.

Hypocrites big time. Question Kennedy on ethical behavior when it comes to profiting off companies while in office is laughable.

Someone recommended congress critters wear suits like NASCAR drivers, showing all their sponsors.

Trump should sign an executive order tomorrow making this law. I am for this 100 percent. Someone should definitely make some cartoons or comics with them in the sponsorship suits.

"Repeatedly promoted the falsehood that HIV is not the cause of AIDS, instead attributing the condition to other factors such as recreational drug use, particularly amyl nitrite (“poppers”), and lifestyle stressors. This is AIDS denialism, a fringe belief that has been thoroughly debunked by the scientific community. In fact, the connection between HIV and AIDS is well-established science. In 2008, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Françoise Barré-Sinoussi and Luc Montagnier for their discovery of HIV as the cause of AIDS. HIV causes AIDS. The scientific consensus, supported by numerous studies and the success of antiretroviral treatments in managing HIV and preventing AIDS, firmly establishes HIV as the cause of AIDS."

Good article on it: https://www.bugeyedandshameless.com/p/joe-rogan-and-robert-f-kennedy-jr

From his book on Fauci:

"The HIV virus…was a kind of free rider that was also associated with overlapping lifestyle exposures. Duesberg and many who have followed him offered evidence that heavy recreational drug use in gay men and drug addicts was the real cause of immune deficiency among the first generation of AIDS sufferers. They argued that the initial signals of AIDS, Kaposi’s sarcoma and Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP), were both strongly linked to amyl nitrite — “poppers” — a popular drug among promiscuous gays. Other common “wasting” symptoms were all associated with heavy drug use and lifestyle stressors."

In the same book, he praises Christine Maggiore as a hero. She was an HIV/AIDS denialist who encouraged women not to take HIV treatment like herself. As a result, she passed the virus to her daughter, who died at 3 years old. She later died of one of the most common AIDS related illnesses. 15 years later, RFK somehow still thinks she was right.

For the measles outbreak, it was Samoa, not Guam (see you can realize you're wrong and admit it!)

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/rfk-jr-appears-before-congress-as-his-comments-spreading-misinformation-draw-scrutiny

“In Samoa, there were two children that died immediately following receipt of a measles vaccine… Now, very quickly, within two weeks, it was realized what that mistake was. It was a nursing error. But, nonetheless, RFK Jr. seized on that. He flooded Facebook with information that the measles vaccine is killing children in Samoa. He went to Samoa. He met with anti-vaccine activists. He met with senior officials in Samoa and kept the drumbeat alive that the measles vaccine was killing children in Samoa. As a consequence, vaccination rates fell from 70 percent to 30 percent. And between September and December of 2019, there was a massive measles epidemic. In this island nation of 200,000 people, there were 57,000 cases of measles and 83 deaths. Most of those deaths were in children less than four years of age. And Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had everything to do with that. And that shows you how disinformation can kill.”

LOL...seriously, THIS is your evidence??  😂  This was covered by ZERO of the main news sources.  Not to mention using Facebook posts as evidence but yet can't produce those posts, and/or any video/audio showing him saying what you claim he said.  Laughable!!

By the way, I am not a fan of Kennedy...I think he really struggled yesterday in his confirmation and still don't see how he is what we need for health secretary, but I also can't stand when people claim false things about people just because they are part of the "other" political party...that is weak sauce!

I’m all for this! You realize the republicans have more corporate sponsors than dems right? And the only people who are advocating to get money out of politics are either dems or Bernie.

So did you read the whole section of that part of the book?  Also, you do realize he is talking about what Duesberg hypothesized?  He was investigated for misconduct and no discipline was handed down due to insufficient evidence.  Point being is you are claiming Kennedy is the one who is claiming these things when in fact it was Duesberg...I know...I know...you will use the weasel word "peddling" like the other liberal rags do.  🙄

Again, I don't like him, I couldn't care less if he doesn't get confirmed, but you sure like to reach just because he isn't a democrat.

Sure, he had a whole chapter in his book in a chapter called "HIV Heresies" and wrote about these ideas and didn't challenge them in any way, but what does that really mean?  Unserious people, truly.

All politicians should have to wear sponsorship jumpsuits. All lobbyists should have to wear sponsorship jumpsuits.

Or, and hear me out, we should get Citizens United overturned and we shouldn't allow lobbyists to even be a thing, nor allow corporate donations into politics, and limit the amount of money that can be invested into political campaigns, and mandate that all donations are public record....

Basically we should minimize the impact of money on politics.

That sounds great to me. Side note: I would love for the ENTIRE election process to be less than 6 months.

It's not okay for her. The reason the democratic party has collapsed is because of their shift to corporate politics. As long as that continues, they will continue to fail.

Incredible is one word. Gross is another,  even though it's legal.

It's legal, but I'm not ok with this much money overwhelming politics.

Not meant for you, but the problem, of course, is he's not asking any question of Duesburg at all. He's just regurgitating the ideas and then not openly advocating for the ideas to hide behind plausible deniability.  Just like he did with the American Samoa situation.

Haven't listened to this episode yet, but here's an example of all of the things GLP1s have shown promise for.

I know there can be significant weight rebound if you go off Ozempic, but I wonder about it's use in some of these others. Like if you use it to abstain from recreational drug use for a year, will you be able to stay off those if you go off a GLP1? Certainly it seems to me like the effect could be more durable since cocaine is more optional than food.

Maybe the CDC has some work to do looking into this.   As of now, using it is not per protocol as it is used for diabetes.

But if it has these other beneficial effects, it should be looked into and trials done.

I just read about a new pain med Journavx that does not do anything with the brain, but it blocks pain signals from getting to the brain.   Not addictive like opioids.   Newly approved.  Wholesale is $15 per pill.   I'm sure retail  will dial that up a bit.

I love Liz Warren questions about his ethics in business. That was rich. I mean I thought her head was going to blow up. These candidates have to go through intense financial scrutiny and background check to even be nominated. America is in a crisis health wise. Some of the drugs we have are very questionable. The things we are putting in our food is very questionable. Is Robert Kennedy a perfect person in every instance. No. Who is?

I'm not a big RFK fan, but Senator Warren is a truly awful person.  How someone who got ahead in life pretending to be a member of an oppressed group is accepted by the Democratic Party is beyond me.

Is it pro DEI or anti DEI to use DEI to screw a DEI.

Another option is to give less of our own money and very limited power to use it to politicians.  Kind of like the constitution says.  The way to get the money out of politics is to stop the red money from going into Washington.

And a balanced budget amendment.  Then lobbyists and corporate money would flee DC lickety split..

People who tolerate me on a daily basis . . . they are the real heroes.
